SU newer ink pads
I tried to do a search on this site; for suggestions with the newer SU ink pads.
I know they require a lighter touch.
I tried inking an embossing folder; and it turned out to be a messy effect.
I tried inking a large background stamp to get it dark enough, 5 minutes after
stamping it still got smudged when I touched the corner.
any great suggestions? and what cleans off the ink off your hands best?
I may just have to use older ink pads for embossing folders.

The new SU pads do require a lighter touch, in my opinion they are similar to the Versafine pads in that regard. I have discovered that I get the best results if I put the ink to the stamp rather than the normal way of tapping the stamp onto the ink pad. The easy way to remember to do this is to always put the stamp on your table, rubber side up, before grabbing your ink pad. A light tap, tap, tap of the pad onto the rubber covers the image nicely - avoid pushing the pad onto the rubber, it will overload the image with ink and you will have a jolly mess! ;)
As for inking the embossing folders, I have not tried this with the new foam style pad. I have read where many people use a brayer to apply the ink to their folders to get nice even coverage, so you might give this a try. And let us know how it works!
My preferred method of removing ink from my hands is a baby wipe (alcohol free). They are quick to use, inexpensive and usually make short work of cleaning up a big mess. I also use them to clean my stamps (I know many people object to this method, but I have had great success using them and have had no damage to my stamps as a result....been doing it for over a decade)
Hope this helps! :o

thanks boss, great suggestions. I did use the background stamp, by applying paper to inked stamp and must have still applied too much pressure; that is the way I like to apply ink to background stamps, also. I haven't tried alcohol wipes, great idea.

A Ranger Craft Scrubbie is wonderful for getting ink off your fingers. Soap up your hands and use the gray dense foam to scrub the ink off easily.
