Default SU Holiday Frame

Just wondering if anyone has had an issue with the holiday frame embossing Folder in the Holiday Catalogue? I read awhile ago that someone was having problems. Not sure what exactly but I am hesitating on ordering it.

Thanks
Shirl

Very Vanilla cardstock creasing with embossing folders?

Sorry for the long link. Check out my post regarding Vanilla cardstock creasing. I can live with it and it doesn't happen with the other colors of cardstock.

Interesting........I have had issues with the designing frames using whisper white. Never dawned on me to check it with colored cardstock. Thanks. But I would want to use white for the holiday frame sometimes, so I may be disappointed

Thanks,
Shirl

I thought it was just me and something that I was doing wrong....have only used whisper white and it creased pretty bad. Will try a color card stock and see what happens.

Cutting and pasting some info from the demo discussion side. Note that I didn't come up with this, just wanted to pass along some tips that may be helpful. I don't have the folder yet even.

Here is my set up:
TOP
Standard Cutting Pad
Embossing Folder with Card Stock
2 Card Stock Shims (cut to the same size as your standard cutting pad)
Multipurpose Platform (completely closed, with no tabs open)
BOTTOM

** PLEASE NOTE: that there is only ONE cutting pad used in this configuration. I got the best results when using a NEW standard cutting pad (ie: one that is not bowed). Your machine may be tighter or looser than mine, just adjust the number of card stock shims accordingly.

----
Bottom: Platform opened no tabs
6 pieces of the cardboard that comes with our dsp
1 piece of regular cardstock
Folder with cardstock cut to size
1 standard cutting plate

-----
Others cut the bottom part off the folder so it fits better sideways

----
If you use cardstock cut 1/2 inch larger than your folder (all around) it works great! You use the 2 standard cutting pads and tab #2. Wastes paper and you have to figure how to trim the piece to use on a card front.

Hope one of these methods works for your project! At least you know you're not alone with difficulties getting it to be perfect, but a lot of people have figured out some tips to get it there! I'd love to see pictures when you get it figured out - the folder leaves a beautiful design.

Any tips for Cuttlebug users? I don't have a Big Shot, but a Cuttlebug.

I like using Papertrey's White & Vintage Cream Cardstock, it's 120 lb weight is perfect for card bases & embossing. I LOVE PTI CS, you might have better luck with that one.

I'm still experiencing issues, and it's driving me mad. I'm wondering if it's the cardstock I'm using? I'm using the Georgia Pacific 110 lb. cardstock that I've seen folks recommend on SCS. I've tried all the methods recommended above and in the linked blog post, but I'm still getting creases on the image. The only thing I haven't tired was spritzing water on the cardstock or using a silicone mat since I don't have one.

I'll try using the Reflections cardstock I have as well, but maybe I need a different paper entirely or try using the Night of Navy that I have?
