Default Stuffing Shaker Cards

I'm going to buy some sequins from pretty pink posh, but what do you usually use for shaker cards? I see little stars and shapes. Where do you buy those?

I think PPP sells some shapes, but I happened to find a bag of heart sequins at Target in the $1 spot. I havent used them yet but I plan to use it in a Valentine's card. Also in craft stores, probably where children's crafts are, with the feathers and pipe cleaners I think. I know ive seen tiny stars in Joanns.

I sometimes also add seed beads, and tiny punches I have made from vellum (I used snowflakes recently) It needs to be reasonably sturdy paper if you are going to use punches.

I went to Micheals and I bought a set that had 24 different kinds and colors for 6$. More than I will ever need!

I fill them with regular sequins, shaped sequins, tiny punched shapes, chunky glitter, and fine glitter. I also plan to use tiny buttons, rhinestones, pearls, and beads.

Thumbs up Filling your shaker Card

I just recently watched a video by Jennifer McGuire (Love her!) and she went over exactly what you are asking...some different things to stuff shaker cards. Try searching Color Cast Designs - they make cute acrylic pieces. or Jennifer Mcquire ink - she has lots of videos on shaker cards !

and if you are interested - here is a great new product for making shaker cards - its these shaped raised windows...which is great for thicker pieces like buttons or acrylic pieces and the best part they have adhesive on them! Check them out...search Impression Obsession - shaker card pouches.

I would have attached the links but because I have not posted more then 3 forum posts they would not allow me to include links

I love shaker cards but get completely frustrated by the static that prevents sequins from actually shaking. They just adhere to the acetate I use to make the shaker. I now only use small beads, but would love to use those cute sequins if anyone knows how to prevent the static. (I have tried dryer sheets....didn't work).

Red face Shaker cards

I know it might sound weird, but I have used soap powder to make snow. It was all I could think of at the time.

Try rubbing the acetate with a dryer sheet or anti-static pouch. Cornstarch in a sock or stocking should also work.
