I bought an ATG not long ago because of how expensive the little taper runners can be. I absolutely love it and that I don't have to switch refills so often.
I notice that many of the tutorials call for a "strong adhesive" or Sticky strip. Would the ATG be good enough or is that a different product all together?
IMO Sticky Strip is stronger than the tape that I use with my ATG. There are different brands of tape that can be used with the ATG so it probably depends on what brand of tape you are using.
I too think the "sticky strip" tape is a stronger adhesive.
From what I've observed in videos and such, it's really a personal preference.
For example, some people use sticky strip to adhere the paper bags for mini albums while others use the ATG.
I guess it really just depends on what type of project you are working on.
I personally haven't had any problems with the ATG adhesive holding things. However, for interactive elements on cards or mini albums I'd probably use the sticky strip.
I was in the same boat. I bought the ATG and really love it. However, I just made 90 easel baby announcements where the 2nd layer was run through the CB swiss dot folder. I then cut oval nestie frames for a picture and sent them off to my son and DIL. When we went out there for the birth, they said a few were falling apart. It was the oval nestie frame and it popped off each card pretty easily. I went to a local Michael's and bought some red line tape, and put it on and they are stuck forever! I love the ATG but it appears that when sticking something to a heavily embossed background the ATG tape isn't quite strong enough. This red line would hold the space shuttle together I believe!!! It is super strong!
