I know that SU's Whisper White and Very Vanilla are NOT good cardstocks to use with Copics because they are coated.

But what about Shimmery White? Is that a "yay" or a "nay" with Copics? Has anyone tried it?

I know this thread is kind of old, but I just found it and wanted to add my two cents

A paper I love using with Copics is Core'dinations Pearl. It comes in 8.5 x 11 pads, and is usually at JoAnns. The paper has a pearl shimmer and is very heavy weight. Your Copics don't soak into the paper, but seem to be really easy to blend. They also dry with a pearl shimmer from the paper and look really pretty, especially with flower designs and Christmas stamps.

I hardly ever see anyone mentioning this paper, but it is actually my very favorite whenever I want an elegant look, whether I use Copics or not.

I use the Copic BLENDING CARD X-Press It Paper. It is a good weight and I found it works well with Copic or ProMarkers. It does not bleed or feather at the edges of your image.

I used Memento's ink in Tuxedo Black or London Fog.

I tried Strathmore Smooth Bristol Paper 100lb., which worked good with Copics but not when I used the colorless blender- it caused the color to bleed around the edges. I think if the image had been bigger it would have worked better.

Other brands I have heard good things about, but I have not had any experience with:

PaperTrey Paper Basics - Stamper's Select White Cardstock
Gina K Pure Luxury White (80# & 120#)
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White

Neenah Classic Crest is my go-to for coloring with Copic and a Copic-recommended card stock, along with the Memento inks. Copic does have a very smooth card stock called X-press It. It's spendy but it's a dream to color on. You won't believe the difference. It's usually available for sale here, but I see it is currently out of stock. Ellen Hutson, LLC | *Manufacturer | COPIC
