just the one size, but you can finagle it so that the punch is larger to holder longer words/sayings. I could show you, but I couldn't explain it to you. sorry.
I see this punch on eBay frequently and some sellers specify 'large word window punch' so I thought maybe it was like the SU tag punch that comes in two sizes, but you've cleared up the mystery for me.
Those links are awesome! I can't believe how much I've learned after only being awake about 8 minutes and it's not even 7am here, lol! I think that's a record, lol!
I have seen some people layer their word window punch outs. How do they do that????
When I want a layer of my word window punch or any of the punches I have and don't have a bigger size punch I use my Magic Mat tool. I got it from SU years ago, but I am sure they still sell it. It is a series of round metal disks with a hole in the center. You choose your size, 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, or 1/2". Then you place the disc right up along the edge of what you want to mat, put your pencil in the middle then trace around the whole image. Then you cut it out. I did it here on this card: Love You A Latte
This was the very first item I purchased from SU! to use with
my photos and in scrapbooking.............that has led me down
the path of paper crafting!
Thanks for the info! I found a 4-disc set on ebay and it's mine now. :-)
I like that this will let me put an even border around any shape. I've used a spool of thread for years. It never occurred to me that someone would have something MUCH better on the market!
Now that I've looked at a couple SU things, I'm liking the big punches (especially the one in this thread). Do I buy them at a party, or online? Is there a price difference?

You can do either. If you buy directly from a demo website the price is the same as at a party. If you buy off of the SU! website and don't select a demo it costs more.
That's so cool! Why on earth did they stop selling those/? Ah well, off to ebay, lol!
they stopped selling the word window punch??

Can you explain how you used a spool of thread?? That sounds very practical, and I'm desperate, lol. Thanks!
Put the spool on its end and stick a pencil down it. Keep the edge of the spool snug up to piece of CS you're tracing. There's definitely a learning curve, so be patient. It's hard to keep the spool snug up to (but not ON) the CS you're tracing around. You have to apply enough push against the piece you're tracing, but not too much or you'll pop the spool right up onto it and your mat will be uneven.
Different spools will give you different widths of matting. I have 2 spools that I like best, so they're now with my papercrafting stuff and not with my sewing stuff. Also, not all pencils will fit through all spools. That's probably the biggest problem!
Also try washers! I have few of those that work well, too, and since you only need the tip of the pencil to fit through, it eliminates the "too thick pencil" problem you can have when trying to use a spool of thread.
The trick is to keep the spool/washer from lifting onto the CS you're tracing around. It has to stay snug up to it all the way around in order to give you a perfect border.
I hope these Magic Matter discs will trace easier. In my perfect world, the disc would stay NEXT TO the CS being traced and the tracing would take a few seconds. There would be no skipping/lifting/hopping onto the CS that's being traced around!
