Does anyone have any ideas for what to do with eylets so that the backs dont look funky? I love to use eyelets in the holes for my gift tags, but the raw back of the eyelet kind-of bothers me.
It would be a great idea if someone made like a two piece eyelet system, so that the front and back snap together with the paper in the middle-no raw edges.

I often have thought the same thing. I don't think anyone makes them like this for the paper crafting industry.
I don't mind the eyelet holes sometimes, but you're right, if the back doesnt get completely flat, it does have some sharp metal on it.
There is a company that makes a little ring that the back of the eyelet sets with...I think it is called Eye Let or silent setter or something. I always saw it on HSN or QVC. It was a springloaded eyelet setter. Hope that helps!

I have used one of these and the eyelet comes out round and really has no sharp edge. The edge split and curl over. It does look better. those hard metal eyelets ( I can't remember the maker of them) are the worst. They are hard to do and I alsways get a huge sharp pointed edge from them. I no longer buy those.

That's a grommet (think canvas tent/sail). Those would give a neat look to some of our items

In the past, I have seen some of those snap together goodies, but they look more like brads than eyelets. I find it depends on the type of eyelets I am using. SU ones are the best for not leaving sharp edges, they are quite soft. I had some Making Memories ones that were so hard I tossed them away.
I use the Fiskars Eyelet Setter Set and it works wonderfully!!! Four tugs and the eyelet is set perfectly, with a nice rounded back. Of course, it helps to use the higher quality eyelets, too!
