I have bought so many cards off ebay that I had to make myself stop even looking. I would bid max $20 (and that included shipping). Figure if I won and only had to pay $20 great, if not, oh well.

After winning 4 cards in a row, I had to stop ebay for a bit.

Noteworthy - $15 (17.50 with shipping)
Spooky Alley - $20.00 (free shipping)
Words & Expressions - 20.00 (free shipping)
Spring 17.50 (19.49 with shipping)

WOW! Those are great prices! I have gotten a few from ebay too and have had good luck so far. Maybe I will need to head back there...

JoAnn's.com has some Slice stuff on sale. I saw a post in another thread that JoAnn/s stores have the slice products. Has anyone seen the actual machine there yet?

The Joann's where I live is very small. They have just started getting some Cricut stuff in, but minimal. Nothing for the Slice. In fact, the scrapbooking department is just one short isle.

Your card is beautiful. I'm having so much fun with my slice. I just finished my easter cards. I used the seasons cartridge that got with my machine to make a "chocolate" bunny and some grass. It came out really cute. I even used the shadow feature.

Question, am I missing out on something regarding the embossing tol. MAybe I'm just not that into dry embossing, but I really am not impressed with the look it's giving me. Don't get me wrong, the Slice is doing a nice job with it, but I don't love the results. Could someone help me out with some ideas, pointers or samples please? I don't want to regret buying it.

Did you see in the announcement thread. Someone saw the hands free system at JoAnn's & they are letting people use the coupon on Slice products?

I do not have the embossing...I am not really interested in that aspect of it. I was orginally going to get the hands free kit but I am having second thoughts after they indicated that you cannot get the magnetic mat wet..huh? How do you clean your glass in that case...Yikes..I will wait to hear how others like the hands free and go from there.
blessings.

Too bad I'm waiting for the pink version...I just 'have' to have it match my Pink Slice. I bet by then we won't be able to use coupons on Slice products.

Scrap-Mart is taking pre-orders for the Pink Hands Free. It shows a picture of the regular one, but states 'pink'.

Hello,
I thought I'd share my great customer service with craft-e-corner with you ladies. After all, this thread is where I found out about them. They are having a sale right now on the pink slice machine & cartridges. I placed an order online & changed my mind. I thought I'd be out of luck & have to send the wrong item back at my own expense, after all I'm the one that changed my mine. I thought I'd call & se if I could change it. I got a quick reply & was able to change my order. My order was shipped to me super fast, especially when you consider that shipping is free. I was so impressed with every aspect of my order & plan to shop with them again. Be sure to check them out. I know it's been mentioned here before, but be sure to sign up for their newsletter for 10% off of your first order. Here's the link:

I am not sure if this was discussed or not yet, but I got to play with the new magnetic mats and spray adhesive yesterday at my Slice class (Creating Keepsakes Convention). I really love both. The spray adhesive dries in record time and the instructor said she never has to wash it off... which solves the problem about not getting the magnetic mat wet. The magnet is super stong, which was a little hard to get used to, but overall I liked it. I don't know how much money I will be putting into my Slice in the near future, since I bought a Pazzles machine yesterday... (YAY!) but I wanted to let you gals know about the new stuff that is out. They are supposed to also be releasing a drawing pen too... not exactly sure when that will be out though.

PS if you ever get a chance to take a Slice class, I highly recommend it. It was not only very fun (and great tips), I got a ton of goodies! I won a MS card, got a cute pink Slice apron, and a Seasons card - on top of a two page scrapbook layout we made in class. All for about $25.

Where can one find a Seasons card for the Slice? I've only seen one on Ebay and the it was going for a good price. It looks like it has some nice designs in it.

Lilyzee, I have only seen the Seasons cards offered as promo items from MM. When I first bought my Slice you could get the Seasons card if you registered your machine within a certain timeframe, and this past weekend I got it from taking a Making Memories Slice class. I don't think they are available in stores, other than eBay.

Hmm, guess I will be buying the magnetic mat. I was trying to cut a 4" frame and the paper kept ripping when it was trying to do the scroll edge. It was difficult to hold the machine down when it went around the scroll edges.

This may have already been posted, but have you guys registered your Slice on their website? A friend saw me in a store today and told me she received an e-mail that the cartridge w/Slice is defective and they are sending her a new one and asking her to return the original in the envelope they provide. I just went and registered mine.

i think it is the "Basics" Card that comes with the machines. the first batches of machines on the market had an older version which would not calibrate the machine. so they will send you the updated one if needed.

most of the machines now have the calibration feature built right in.

if i remeber right, the older ones had serial # starting with G6 or GB. it is somewhere in the thread here...LOL......you know my brain......

Hmmm I have a serial #G6 and never calibrated it. Just registered it yesterday I think. The MS cards don't fix the machine, right, I need something else. I guess I will shoot MM an email.

The Basics card comes with all of the Machines. If you got the machine through the Making memories TV ofer, it came with the Basics/Seasons card. I got the offer & sent it back when I did the math. I then turned around & got the Pink machine for around $125 from craft-e-corner. They're on sale until the 16th. The Pink machine came with the Basics card & Think Pink. I am a cancer survivor so it was a no brainer for me. The Seasons Card has some great images & I do miss it. I compared the cards on the market and found most of the images on other cards. I think I may still try to find the Seasons card on e-bay. I used two of the flowers like crazy to make some really pretty layered flowers for my cards & mini's. They aren't in my gallery here, but on my blog. I really need to add to my gallery. If only I had about 5 more hours each day... Check them out on my blog. I even aded links to my you tube channel where I make the flowers. Thanks, JIL

I just went to look and mine is a G6 too, however, I'm pretty sure mine did the calibration.

Thanks for posting this. I ordered my Pink Slice yesterday and got notification that it shipped today. I can't wait to get it. I was hoping that the price would be better than Create For Less with the 10%, but the Pink Slice with the Think Pink cartridge has a 30% coupon, so it only came to $123 from Craft-E-Corner. Almost $40 less than what I was going to pay. Great savings.

A new Hobby Lobby just opened up by me (about the same distance as the other one, but it is new!) and I'm going to see what Slice cards they have later tonight. What cards would you recommend that I don't already have?

I have:
Basics 1, 2 and 3
Noteworthy
Just Chillin
Words & Espressions Holiday
Vintage Findings

I want one I can use with my current scrapbook pages. I'm eventually going to get Spook Alley and Mistletoe, but not right now.
What else is a must have?

Hello everyone,

I have the Slice machine here at home, and after a bumpy start (like many of you here I had to send it back for replacement after it stopped working very shortly after purchase), and I have a question.

I desperately want to be able to make regular oval shapes and scalloped edges ovals. So far I haven't seen any card that offers this option. I'm at my wits end, and am seriously considering buying a Big Shot just to be able to buy the Nestabilities ovals. But I'd so rather not have to spend hundreds only for one shape!

So my question is, is there a design card that offers those type of oval shapes?

Thanks so much in advance!

Scarlette,
welcome to SCS and the Slice thread!

the Basic Shapes 1 card that came with your machine should have one scalloped oval and one scalloped circle on it.

you can go to www.whyslice.com and click on "products" and then "design cards" and see what each card has on it.

Scarlette, in addition to the scalloped oval on Basic Shapes, you can also get it on Basic Elements, which will allow you to mirror or shadow for layering. Also, I think I saw a regular oval and an oval frame on the Tagmaker card. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the warm welcome Holly
I'm working with the basic one oval, but I need the oval to not be so narrow; I want to use the shape to feature larger stamps on my cards.

Hopefully I'll find it in the other ladies suggestions, or else I'll be stuck to buy another machine

In Basic Elements you'll find the same scalloped oval than in Basic 1.
I can't understand why it's so hard to produce a simple larger width oval with and without scallops?

Thanks for the response
