Default Silhouette store for other cutters?

I just got my Bosskut Gazelle and so far I really love it! I am slowly trying to figure out how to do my own designs but I always see cute cut files on other cards and the Sillhouette files seem to be the most common. Does anybody know if you can have a subscription to the Sillhouette Store without their machine? Are the files something I can import into other programs? Specifically I am using Funtime right now.

Thanks for any thoughts you have!

Yes, you can have a sub to the Silhouette Store without having a Silhouette. I'm not tech savvy when it comes to Funtime but if it is like inkscape then I think you can use it to cut the Silhouette Studio files.

If you join the SilhouettePlus users group they can tell you for sure what you can do with your Gazelle and the Silhouette Studio files.

The Silhouette store only offers the proprietary .studio file types, so I don't think you will be able to use them with your Gazelle. There may be a few that are .gsd type left but they are doing away with those types (for the older Craft Robo/Wishblade/Silhouette using the RoboMaster software). I only have the free version of Silhouette Studio and there is no option to export/save a file in any other file formats. Perhaps someone with the Designer edition could let us know if you can export files in other formats like svg/pdf/png?

Cat woman, that is exactly what I was worried about. I hope someone has some experience with this! Or I just need to get better designing my own.

You can use the free Slhouette software and bring up the design on your computer, and thn "copy" and trace it in one of the other third party software packages like Make The Cut. This would be similar to finding an image on the Internet and pixel tracing it.

If you have the Silhouette Designer Edition version 1.9 or 2.0 then you can export to an svg file format, which many other programs can read. The current version of the Designer Software does not allow this.
