Default Silhouette pet peeve

I love my Silhouette machine except for one thing. When I download something that is a little more complicated than normal, I don't know how to get the thing put together. Like for example I had a new card fold, with several folds. I had no clue how to fold it. Also, I had a flower that I also, had no clue how it went together. The flower had a lot of folds and tucks and pop-ups.

I did look on the silhouette page and the designer had a link to her blog, on the page where you downloaded the card or the flower, but when I went to the blog, it had nothing to do with the card or the flower. And this wasn't the same designer of both the card and the flower.

It just frustrates me. Seems like they could put the instructions some where easy to get to them.

IDK about digital cuts, but perhaps Youtube might tell you what you need to know?

This is why i like SVGcuts. They make detailed videos that go step by step for assembling their complicated and 3-d files. I only purchase simple files from Silhouette.

I agree with you, sometimes I have to go by the tiny thumbnail and just guess. It can be frustrating. However, there are some designers that have fabulous tutorials on their blog like Jamie Cripps @ Bit o'Paper. I'm more likely to see something I like on her blog then grab it from the store than the other way around.

I spoke to someone at customer service about this and they said to call them. If the designer didn't have instructions on their blog they would email instructions to us. I know it's frustrating for those of us who craft on the fly.

I think we should all do this, so silhouette would get the idea to make instructions available.

Thank you so much! I never thought to contact customer service.
