Default Silhouette Pen holder

Does anyone have this? I just bought it and it came today and none of my pens fit in it. I guess that's okay, a little annoyed I will have to buy special pens though!

What brand or kind of pen do you ladies use for your pen adapter?

I wondered if the Jelly Roll gel pens fit in the holder?

I wonder if they will. They sell those at michaels right? I was planning on going to all my area craft stores with the adapter and see if I could find some to fit.

I have heard that the Bic pens will fit into the holder. I have not tried them yet but I have found that the "Le Pen" markers will fit. I got mine at Michaels.

Le Pen is made by Marvy Uchida and are available in a variety of colors. I think they run about $2 each at Ms.

Link for info on the pen is at uchida.com/p-63-le-pen.aspx"

I don't know about the one you got, but I plan on getting this adjustable pen holder here:
http://www.amychomas.com/
I watched videos and they were using a lot of different kinds of pens in it.

Katarina, I got the one from Silhouette itself. It only holds one (very thin) type of pen. I would not recommend it, it was way over-priced and the pens are hard to find. I have only found one type that will work.

I was hoping that others had found other pens that would fit it.

I now have the HotPaws pen holder for the Silhouette, it costs less that Amy's holder and works very, very well.

Katarina, I shold add that the HotPaws holder allows you to use ANY pen, not just the short ones or "mini" Steples pens or markers. It allows you to use full size glue pens, Stampin Up markers, gel pens, Sliccci pens, the graphite pen, any height of pen will work.

Unless she has changed the design, Amy's holders only work with the shorter pens. I even wrote to her to confirm this in 2011. At that time she only made the holders for the short pens.

I have the silhouette holder and I believe it only holds the silhouette brand pens. I just got the Chomas holders (in the mail today, in fact) and I think they hold more than the short ones. Here are some blog posts from a friend of mine that shows her using them.
in this one she is using the marker holder:
Under A Cherry Tree: The Cameo, my ARTist : How to draw sketches with the Silhouette Cameo

here she used the sakura souffle pen in one (I believe those are long pens)
Under A Cherry Tree: Dream Big, Aim High - a Thin Font card

another using a souffle pen:
Under A Cherry Tree: New! Lettering Delights' Thin Fonts (Single-line font) and how to use them

Is the HotPaws holder made of metal? They almost look plastic but I can't imagine them being plastic. I wish I'd known about them before I spent the $$ on the Chomas ones but I'd never seen them before. I did get 10% off the Chomas ones, at least, so in all it wasn't a lot more expensive. I got both the regular pen and marker holders.

I saw the Chomas pen holder being used in a video and they were long pens.

I have the Chomas pen holder and its AWESOME! It can hold long pens if you keep the cover of the Cameo open while sketching.

Here is a card I made with a sketch using the Chomas holder - Cuts, Crops and Creativity!: Drunken Stampers DT!

YES! and that is so they will not be too heavy to use in the Cameo. There is a weight consideration and the plastic is lighter than metal. I don't know how heavy the Chomas holders are but I do know that Silhouette America has commented that excess weight can affect the motor of the cuter.

The pen holder is 14 grams and the marker holder is 17 grams. They look like they're made of aluminum.

I have the chomas pen holder too and think it's fantastic... it fits most pens apart from the thicker markers...

Can you not send it back to silhouette and buy a chomas pen holder instead it's much better value for money!
