Default Silhouette Savvy FB Page

Hi everyone! I have seen so many people needing help and struggling with getting up to speed with the Silhouette and all you can do with this machine. Quite frankly, information is everywhere!

I've started a Facebook page to compile information on how to use the Silhouette, including video's, manuals, projects, tutorials, and will include links to free SVG files, free font's, etc.

This page is opened to both new and experienced Silhouette users. If you have a video you think shows how to use one of the many awesome things you can do with the Silhouette, please feel free to post and share. Please keep it friendly...all non-friendly posts and comments will be banned forever.

I will make sure all content will be credited to the owner. Please let me know if you see any credits that are incorrect.

Here's the link to the FB Page. https://www.facebook.com/SilhouetteSavvy

Please feel free to "Like" the page and share it as well. We are just getting started and I'm excited to share with others the many things you can do with the awesome machine!

Default Shared your video....

Craftykarla, you are awesome! Hope you don't mind....I just shared your video on https://www.facebook.com/SilhouetteSavvy

I have a lot of new FB Friends that haven't migrated to these boards yet who are very interested (or just bought) the Silhouette. I'm sharing everyone's info and videos so that they get started right away and don't let it sit in the box. Eventually we'll get them over to these sites!

Thanks for posting the video. Feel free to like the FB page as well and feel free to share more info.

Karen

Agreed! I have fallen in love with the Silhouette too! I sold all of my Cricut stuff and I was very HEAVILY invested in Cricut. I don't miss it one bit! I had one glitch with the cord and had to get a new one, but that was minor. I think I'd always recommend to have an extra cord because replacement under the warranty took almost 2 weeks. That was a long two weeks!

I use the Silhouette Cameo so much more than I ever used the Cricut. What an awesome machine!

Great to see a sticky for Silhouette Cameo! I had started this thread sometime ago hoping to make a list of cutting settings for cardstocks. Maybe there is a better list out there but adding this one just in case there isnt...

Lets make a list -- Cameo Blade/Speed/Thickness settings for different cardstocks

I set a little time aside each week to watch and learn the video's. I had no idea when I bought this machine how much I could do with it! My goal this year is to master Silhouette Design Studio....obviously one video at a time!

I found a wonderful dingbat font, specifically designed for die cutting machines, called 09KutUps:

She has one link to download the font, and another where you can get a character map. Such wonderful shapes - can't wait to try it!

Default Library

First of all thank you for posting this sticky! It is very helpful. My question is this: Is there a way to categorize the library such as put the holiday files in one folder and flowers in another? Would make it so much easier to find the ones you are looking for. Thanks for any help.

yes, just right click on "My Library" and it will pop up asking if you want to create a new folder. After you've created a new folder, just drag and drop.

I presume you're talking about Silhouette Studio... You can also associate keywords with the files, like butterfly, flower, etc. Then you can use the search bar and just type in what your looking for. This works well especially if something fits into more than one category - like rabbit and easter...

We've recently set up a Facebook group where it's all about Silhouette: https://www.facebook.com/groups/425512384190673/
Feel free to join, add links, ask questions...

I am waiting for my replacement ac adapter. Silhouette Support shipped it out Feb, 20 so I hope it'll be here soon. Does anyone have experience with how long a parcel takes from CA to Europe?

I am still learning (I am always learning lol) I have the SD bought just before they announced the Cameo, but haven't used it enough to warnet buying the Cameo even though that was more of what I was looking for.

Default New Silhouette Portrait arrived today!

Hello everyone! I received my brand new Silhouette Portrait today. I'm already madly in love with the machine. I will never give up my manual dies or die cutting machines, but this little puppy has potential. It does not take up much space. The soft ware was easy to install and the customer support from silhouette america is fantastic.
These are my personal views I do not work for silhouette america or their member companies.
