how do you all shade around your colored images? You know the grey that is around them. Do you use a certain marker or do you use a blender pen with ink? TIA Amy
I use twinklings, or tombows, or watercolour wonder crayons. Basically whatever you are using to colour with, you can add a very light background and blend it out. If it's a water-based technique, you are going to get the best results if you use watercolour paper because it will do to the blending for you with a little bit of water.
I use my lightest gray marker, or sometimes the aqua-gray. I don't have copics, but I do have Marvy Cartoon Designer 1900-B markers. They are alcohol based, and I believe them to be very similar to the copics. I found them in an art store in Beijing last year, and the same store carrided copics for about 4 times the price.
i bought a prisma watercolor pencil in the lightest grey, lightly shade, then blend with a blender. michaels sells the prencil individually and they are in the art aisle.
