Default Score Boards for envelopes - what's the difference...

Is there benefit to making envelopes using SU's diagonal plate over the triangular inserts used by MS and other brand scoreboards? I'm not asking which is the better overall scoreboard. I just want to know if/why the diagonal plate makes envelope making easier. Thanks!

I'm trying to decided between some of these right now as well. I think one advantage of the SU plate is it gives you a larger, longer scoring area. Since it is 12x12, the longest line you can score should be about 16.9 inches (if my Pythagorean theorem is remembered properly), and you can score an entire 12x12 sheet. With the triangular inserts, the longest line you could score would be 12", and you could not put as large a sheet of paper on, as the triangle takes up a big chunk of the MS or Scor-pal's surface. I am going to have to think about this one. Curious if anyone who has both can confirm?

I just received -really fast --my NEW Scor-Pal with Envi-maker!! I totally love it! I couldn't believe how fast I got it! Their service is THE BEST!
I made several envelopes with it already and they are perfect!
Really Love Scor-Pal and their products! I made both the Rectangle A2 envelope and the one made with their new Envi tool. Very easy to use and the envelopes they make are super! My vote is for Scor-Pal!!

Having both the MS board with it's triangular envelope tool and SU's diagonal plate, I prefer the plate-and it fits perfectly on the MS board. I always seemed to be off a bit with that corner thingy, trying to get it to stay in place or adjusting the measurements since it makes envelopes quite a bit larger than I need. So I'm probably not going to get the Scor Pal envelope maker anytime soon even though I do use the Scor Pal the most for plain scoring.

Cindy in Oregon - Thanks!

I have more score boards than any human realistically needs, but I was really wanting SU's diagonal one. You've just enabled me and I'll be putting it on my next order. I have the same problem with my paper kind of sliding underneath the triangle insert on my Martha board.

The Scor-Envi fits on the right corner of the Scor-Pal rather than the left side like other triangular envelope makers. It stays in place and you have two hands free for scoring in a comfortable way and holding the paper in place. Thanks for the cudos Jill.
