Default Recommendations for a non SU/CTMH pigment ink?

I need some full sized pigment ink pads. I have several of the Cats Eye pigment inks but for several projects I realized these just aren't that practical.

Should I just get the color box full sized ones or anyone have any other brand recommendations?

I'd say it depends on what you want to use them for the most. (You have to realize that I'm a person that has a large dresser drawer dedicated to various ink pads, PLUS two SU caddies that are FULL!) LOL, If you want to use them mainly for embossing, then you want a really juicy pad, like the Colorbox. If you want them more for their light-fast qualities, then the Versafines are great because they are a lighter bodied pigment ink, and so dry much faster with a sharper image (which is great for sentiment stamps).

Are you beginning to see why I have so many kinds of ink, lol??? There are pads called "hybrid" ink pads, which are sort of like a mix of pigment/dye/permanent inks. Again, these are really nice since they are SO versatile, being good for paper, glass, metal, pretty much whatever. However, for embossing, you need to work REALLY fast, since they do dry quickly on paper.

I know I've probably just added to the confusion. The problem is, there's no one perfect ink for every medium. Me, I think the Clearsnap inks are great all-around products. The dye inks (Vivid) are amazingly bright and juicy. The pigment (colorbox) inks are also very juicy and vibrant and both come in a wide array of colors.

LOL, I bet you're ready for a nap, now, if you've read all the way through this!!

Palette Hybrid pads are AWESOME! They stamp like a pigment, but dry like a dye. I know you can get them from The Angel Company and Papertrey also sells them.

oh I already have a ton of the palette inks, staz on, and the adirondak dye inks. I just need some pigment inks for 2 reasons. The first is embossing and the second is for stamping in quantity like when making a bunch of nugget boxes or cards in bulk.

I would say 80% of my stamps are acrylic and i just can't get a good image with the dye ink pads. Im actually having some trouble getting a crisp image with the Palette inks I do have as well. Specifically solid images vs outlines. I get sort of a splotchy look instead of a solid color if that makes sense.

I love Brilliance ink pads, especially the pearlescent ones - you get a lovely sheen. They work on coated and glossy CS too which is a plus. I tend not to heat emboss with them 'cos I like the pearlescent finish.

Although they are a pigment ink they seem to dry faster than normal pigment inks - and you can always heat set with a heat gun if necessary.

They're great for using on shrink plastic too.

They come in full size pads and also in small 'Dew Drops' - cute tear drop shape pads.

Great range of colours too. They have some interesting colour mix pads like Crimson Copper and Lightning Black - which is black but with a tinge of gold.

Meant to say I have used my Brilliance pads with clear acrylic stamps (Papertrey, Woodware, Stampendous and Studio G) - these inks work fabulously!

I love Versafine. I always try to grab a new colour whenever Hobby Lobby has a half-off sale.
