I've been doing a mixed media course and learning to drawing/paint/colour faces and figures using all my various supplies. When it comes to markers I only possess the SU! Stampin' Write ones and was surprised when I discovered I could get pleasing blended/layering results for a fair skintones using them. Unfortunately the colours I mostly use are the retired ones from the Soft Subtles group. Luckily I still have all the re-inkers for those colours (even though I don't have the pads).
So the question is.... should my newly coveted markers become dried out, can I re-ink them? And how would I do that?
I've refilled s couple of the markers and they came back to life, but Basic Grey is giving me fits! It seems to be a different formula than the other inks and made a huge mess. And the marker has dried out again after just a few months. Anyone else have issues with this color? I don't have the inkpad just the marker and reinker.

Grey (and black) are the colours I don't have so I have no experience with any potential issues.

My first Basic Grey inkpad came dried out. I got a replacement, this inkpad just work fine. So there could be a known issue with this color.
I use my markers a lot and have re-inked them often. I use a pair of tweezers to gently pull out the brush tip and drop a couple of drops of ink down into the barrel then push the brush tip back into the marker. I've also ordered replacement brush tips online, I keep extras around because they do wear out that way I don't have to replace my markers.
