Default quickutz 2x2 cutting problem

i've recently begun some heavy duty cutting with one of my quickutz 2x2 dies, prob at least 100 with plans for a few 100 more. i've noticed that not all the cuts are clean and, in fact, many of them are stuck in the same place. i tried going around the egde of the design with a piercing tool but that didn't help. is it possible that have i overused the die? should i change the ejection foam on it, if that's even doable? any other ideas? thanks!

Have you tried positioning it in a different spot on your plates? I've had luck turning dies at an angle when they didn't cut through.

Quickutz are my least favorite dies as I always seem to have a problem with them - in fact I'm not crazy about any dies with the ejection foam. If Vic's idea doesn't work, do you have a metal plate? They work wonders for finicky dies.

thanks for your ideas! I'll try to move the die when i'm cutting once or twice but i can't really keep moving it at this quanitity! & it's a particular image so i'm limited to my little quickutz dies. i dont have a metal plate & id rather not invest in one but ill look into jury- rigging a home-made version. so far i tried a new cutting plate & it is cutting easier .
about the ejection foam, can it be changed and would that help the die work easier? thanks!

I just remove the foam. I always remove it.

The only thing with removing the foam is that there aren't any holes in the face of the die to push the paper out after cutting - especially if it's a tiny shape, it can be hard to get out. :(

Yes it can but smacking it on the handle of my BS helps to pop out the stubborn ones. I try not to buy dies with foam or without holes but sometimes the die is so cute it doesn't matter.

Another thing to try, if the cut seems bad always in the same spot, is to put a little scotch tape on the backside of the die in that area. Sometimes a layer or two of the tape is just enough of a shim to make that part cut all the way.

You're correct, but here's what I do. I just use a piece of painters tape or even plain old clear tape to pull the cut out. If it's an intricate cut I use wax paper placed between the die & cardstock before cutting.

I forgot to add.
If the wax paper does not come out don't worry about it, just leave it in for the next cut.

I think it's been mentioned but you may have to replace the ejection foam. I don't care for the dies with the ejection foam, but I do have a couple that I love using. Good luck. If it's economical for you, I would go on ebay and get a 2nd one that will help with all this extra cutting.
