Default Quick question regarding marker storage

Do alcohol-based markers (Copic, Spectrum Noir, Bic, etc.) have to be stored on their sides, or can they be upright without causing a problem? I'm reorganizing my studio (for umpteen-bizillionth time!) and need to know so I put them in the right containers... Thanks!

I know about Copics -- they can be stored upright or on their sides... except for the Spica ones. They need to be stored on their side (they have tiny glass flakes in them that will clog if stored upright).

Hi Sue! I'm also in the middle of doing the same thing! I just got my other marker organizer last week-end and it is still in the box! That 4 letter word WORK keeps getting in the way! I'm off for the next 2 days and can't wait to get into my craft room! Anyways, to answer your question, Copic's and spectrum Noir markers can be stored either way. I ALWAYS keep mine stored on their sides! I have done it this way from day 1 and will continue.

Good luck & happy (re) organizing,
Connie

Thanks, Jana! I'm probably safe no matter how I go about it then - I don't have any Spicas...

Oops - sorry, Connie! We were apparently posting at the same time, and I missed it until this morning! I've decided to put them all on their sides - mostly because they fit the space better, and better to be safe, I guess. Now I just have to corral all of those pesky ink pads...

Have you seen these? Studio 3 Solutions Color Cubbie

This is what I store my Copics (and Distress Markers) in. LOVE LOVE. Lots of capacity with a small footprint on your craft table

I was just looking at those yesterday - I may have to try one out! Right now (as un-fabulous as it sounds) I have them in cans (from green beans or chili, probably) laying on their sides on top of the shelves where my stamps are. I made x-shaped inserts from cardboard and there you go... I plan on expanding my paltry collection, though, so I'll probably need something better shortly! Thanks for the recommendation!
