Default Question for those of you with a 1/4" 3M ATG gun...

I think this is the right place to put this question. I am going through adhesive like mad. I want to purchase an ATG gun, but I'm not sure of which adhesive I want. I am interested in the 3M 908 Scotch ATG Gold, 3M 969 ATG Tape, and (or) 3M 924 ATG Tape.

One of the things I'd like to know is if you can switch a roll for another one in the 1/4" ATG gun whenever you want, or do you have to wait until the roll runs out? I was thinking of getting a couple of each and trying them out, but I won't if I can't do that. If I can't, which is the better type to have?

Yes, you can switch out whenever you choose. You need to purchase the adapter tho. I have 2 guns and I keep 1/4in. tape in one gun and 1/2in. tape in the other.

I don't think I need the adapter if I get the 1/4" gun. There's another gun that needs the adapter to use the 1/4" tape. I might get the bigger gun later if I decide I want to use wider tape, too. I am spending a small fortune in adhesive, though, and I'm always running out.

you can change the tape whenever you want, Christa. I've always used the Gold tape and I love it. Don't know about the others, though.

I use the gold tape for scrapbooking (b/c it's acid free)

and I use the 924 tape for cards and craft projects.

I have the 1/4" gun and I get the 1/4" tape. I have two guns b/c I'm lazy and don't want to change out tape mid roll. (but that's just me).

I like both tapes equally. I just would not use something that was not acid free in my scrapbook. Hence the second gun and the gold tape.

Adriene

Do you find the 1/4" thick enough. The tape runners I use now are 3/8". I am really looking forward to ordering and atg, but am not sure which one to get.

I think they're a fine width. If you need wider, two strips side-by-side is 1/2", which is just 1/8" wider than 3/8". Does that help?
