Default Problem with my Spellbinder Raspberry plate

I bought 2 of the "large" M-Bossibilities and a Raspberry plate to use in my Grand Calibur .

Both the M-Bossibilities AND the Raspberry plate are too wide to fit through the slot in my Grand Calibur with the white tray installed . The plates that came with the machine fit through the slot .
I removed the white tray and they fit .

It says on the Raspberry plate it is 8 & 1/2" by 12" but the opening with the white tray installed is only 8 & 1/4"
Has anyone else encountered this problem?

There appear to be two raspberry plates. It looks like you may have the raspberry spacer? Perhaps you need the smaller one?

OMG I didn't realize there were 2 different size large Raspberry plates :(
One is 8 & 1/4" wide the other is 8 & 1/2" wide.

Do they have a different Grand Calibur with a wider opening to accommadate 8 & 1/2" width?

Now what is the solution to the M-Bossibilities being about 1/4" wider than the base plates? That also will not fit through the slot with the white tray attached.

There were alot of complaints about that white tray making it impossible to put an 8 1/2 x 11" sheet of cardstock thru the machine. So Spellbinders redesigned the tray so that it allows the 8 1/2" wide sheets of cardstock to go thru. There are two different sizes of Raspberry plates one for the GC like yours and one for the "new" tray.

With that being said, I removed the tray along time ago on my GC. I haven't had any issues not having it in place. Have you tried running the embossing folder thru your machine with the tray removed? Even if alittle bit sticks out it might still work....IDK???

Thanks

I ran the M-Bossibilities folder through after I removed the white tray and it embossed beautifully!!
The material of the Spellbinder embossing folders is much firmer than other brands of embossing folders so the embossing is much deeper .

I make larger cards so I wanted the larger embossing folders . I have ditched most of my Cuttlebug embossing folders. They are a nuisance to line up to make a larger size piece . Spellbinders has a Swiss Dots style embossing folder ( my favorite design) in the very large size. I have a couple of the Spellbinder 5" x 7" embossing folders and I love them too!

I think I will wait until I need new basic plates and then decided if I want buy the new white tray.

Are there two sizes of new basic plates too?

Yes! So.. Spellbinders recently revised the Grand Calibur Machine, making the opening wider. That's why we also added new larger plates (all of them). If you enjoy the tray on your machine Barbara, and would like the smaller plates... please don't hesitate to reach out to me. So happy to see the community jumping in to help out! xo

Default Grand Calibur Raspberry adapter plate and my solution

I went to use my Grand Calibur today with a Sue Wilson "thick" EF. It did not fit. I do not have the raspberry adapter plate. Is is the raspberry thinner for that need? I just used several pieces of cheap CS and made my own plate. It worked great.
Any advise on needing the adapter plate would really help, thank you!
