Default Pro Decision Trimmer -- changed my mind

I posted earlier that I liked this trimmer. I've changed my mind. I find it awkward to use (the thing that holds the paper is annoying and there is no marking for 5.5") and I don't think I get nearly as clean a cut as my formerly owned Genesis.

Since I had posted a favorable comparison I felt that I should come back and clarify.

I got rid of the Genesis because it was too big (18"). I'm saving my pennies and will get a 12" Genesis.

Wow, can't imagine the frustration of trying to find a satisfactory trimmer after having used a Genesis. I can totally understand you not liking a thingee that gets in the way and not being able to measure a half sheet of paper would drive me nuts.
I just got the 18" Genesis a couple of months ago after debating about going with the 12" model. Space on my table is tight, though I must say I do not regret one square inch that the Genesis claims. It is an amazingly accurate machine and I still marvel at how tiny of a wisp of paper I can trim off without having the card stock scoot out of line.
Hope you are able get your new smaller Genesis soon, before you are forced to by yet another trimmer to replace the one you have now. Hang in there in the meantime!

thanks. I hate the idea of spending more $$ on another trimmer but I'll take it out of the rest of the craft budget.

Are you planning on keeping your 12" Genesis out or moving it onto your surface as you need it. I have an older Carl that I use but at the moment I don't have a dedicated cutting space and get it out to use as I need it.
