Default Prisma pencils vs. Prisma watercolor pencils

Can anyone tell me exactly what the difference is between the regular prisma colored pencils and the prisma watercolor pencils? And which seem to work better?

I'm thinking I don't really need both, right? I like the ability to blend that I get from watercolor pencils but if I understand correctly, the same effect can be had with gamsol.

I'd just like a little guidance and advice before I spend the money. Thanks!

Mmmm. If I am not mistaken, the watercolor ones have no wax in them and the Premier, etc., do. The wax ones work with gamsol. The different Prisma pencils have different wax contents. I asked on here a while back what pencil everyone used with gamsol, and the replies were overwhelminly the Premier ones.

Yes, premier have wax in them. The gamsol "dissolves" the wax making it blendable. The watercolor ones blend with water and you get a "lighter" color to them. The premiers with gamsol have a richer color. I think!
