Default Printing & Colored Pencils??

I am having an issue with my OMS smearing the ink on digis...is this common? I colored some that sat for a looong time and don't remember that happening..is that it? They need to sit forever? I even tried to heat set and that didn't help. It is only smudging with OMS , not watercolors. Is there an ink that is better suited for OMS ? TIA for any help ladies!

If your printer has two black inks (one will be pigment & the other dye based), try printing in photo quality and then in grey scale only and then test which one smears. If they both end up smearing, you could use a fixative to eliminate the problem. I bought a workable fixative from Michaels and have been using the can for a couple years. All it takes is a very light coating. Spray it outside though if your use it, because the fumes are nasty.

OH Thank you! I hadn't thought of using fixative! I have 3 cans of it for my pastels and charcoals..You are right..the fumes are horrible! I will try these suggestions and report back!
