Default Petite Oval Nestabilities - discontinued?

Have Spellbinder's discontinued the Petite Oval Nestability dies? Yesterday I showed a friend how to make a shadow box card with an oval aperture and frame. I used two dies, one from my large set and one from my small set of Petite Oval dies to make a frame for the aperture. My friend has the Petite Ovals large set and wants to buy the small set now and I can't find them anywhere. I think they may no longer be available - can anyone confirm that please?

Thank you!

Probably the best way to get a confirmation on this would be directly from the company. I was going to go to their web page and send them an email to ask, but never got around to it yet.

I've now checked the Spellbinder's online store and Petite Ovals don't appear there so it would seem they have been discontinued. I'm glad I bought my large and small sets together at the same time - but my friend will be disappointed!

I emailed Spellbinders this morning and this is the reply they sent back:

Hello Barb,
The item number you are looking for is S4-140 this item was last sold the end of Jan 2011 e no longer make or carry this item. You can try to look for it via Google and type in Spellbinders S4-140 and see if anyone on line still may have it.
Hope this helps.
Have a great day!
Amanda

Many thanks for that info Barb. I've looked online for UK stockists with no success. My friend will have to borrow my dies when she wants to make a frame!

This won't help you right now, but around November - December, WalMart and JoAnns have special sales for some of the four set packs (circles, ovals, etc.). You might want to check their sites now and if they aren't available, wait until this fall.

That is how I was able to obtain the missing sets.

Good Luck!

Believe me I would LOVE to check out Joann's & Michaels - but I am across the pond in England so that's not possible I'm afraid! :(

You have NO idea how much I would love to check out US craft stores - I would think I'd died and gone to heaven I dare say! :p

(Shaking my head) No! No! No! Be grateful you can't check them out: it leaves more space and money for the incredible papers, punches, etc. that you have over there that we don't have access to.

Er, I meant to say WalMart.com and JoAnns.com had the sets.

Doing a search I found some interesting things: WalMart and Amazon.com had links on the search page, yet not available on their websites.

Here's one site that has one of them:
Spellbinders Nestabilities Dies-Petite Oval Small

Here's a UK site that mentions the Petite Oval Large Scalloped Nestabilities Die and where you can find it at UK stores: Petite Oval Large Scalloped Nestabilities Die Creative Expressions

perhaps one of them can help you locate them.

Here's a site that has the complete set (including scalloped):
Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Petite Oval' Dies | Overstock.com

Good Luck!

BTW, when I got my complete sets (four pk) at my local JoAnns, I wanted to get a picture of them to put them into Word (for my records and easier access to the various sizes). The only places that had them were UK sites... go figure! LOL

Come to Australia girls and try to buy an alcohol marker. And don't get me started on blending card!

Dies I usually import, papers I get when and where I see them. Stamps I buy digi.

I guess every country has its crafting strengths...just not sure what ours is yet

I like your idea of heaven. I think unlimited access to craft supplies is much more interesting than "harp lessons"! :p
