Default Paper Snips - Should I buy them?

I need a pair of good scissors for cutting out images. I am wondering if I should buy the SU paper snips or if I should just buy from Michael's. They have the Cutterbee ones (two kinds and I am not sure what is different about them) at Michael's for about $16.00 (Canadian) which I could buy with the 40% off coupon. Does anybody know if they are the same cutting wise or are the SU paper snips worth it.

Not sure about the other brand you mentioned but the snips rock. The handles are comfy and they have a very sharp fine point. Perfect for getting into those tricky corners. They have a nice safety cover too.

in one word: YES! LOL You definately need to get these. I have been stamping for over 4 years and for 3 years I couldn't see any reason to pay $9 (US) for snips. Then, I got them and let me tell you, they are the best things ever! My demo/upline has several pairs. I have used some from other companies and they just aren't the same. My advice, get the SU ones and save your 40% off coupon for something else at Michaels. ;)

I think the snips and Cutterbee scissors are made by the same company. I was able to get some Cutterbee's on clearance about a year ago at my LSS, and I still use them. They're really handy little scissors. I have seen the Cutterbee's at Wal-mart for around 6-8 dollars.

I *heart* my paper snips - I have 2 pairs - one for cutting paper/CS and the other JUST for cutting ribbon.

I've heard the Cutterbees are the same but I've never tried them so I can't say for sure that they are

I've never tried the SU snips, but I do have the Cutterbee scissors and I really like them -- they are very sharp and are great to do all that precise trimming you need to do sometimes.

I agree with some other posters, it looks like SU are branded Cutterbee. I have the cutterbee's and love them. If you see two kinds, one could be teflon, non-stick for cutting stickers. I would use your coupn and get the regular ones.

The cutterbee scissors are an exact copy of the SU paper snips. I have both - the yellow and black cutterbee and 2 pairs of SU paper snips. If you look closely at the handle of the paper snips, you will see a pattern in the rubber that matches the yellow and black cutterbee handle.

Whichever one you choose, definitely worth the price paid.

This is soooo cool! I love the help a person can get on this site!

I would always see the two kinds of Cutterbee scissors and could never decide between the two so I just didn't buy them. Would I need scissors to cut stickers too? Should I get that pair? Thanks Scrapmo for clearing that up for me. Now I know I can get the other set for just cutting paper - and they are the cheaper ones.

I have the cutterbee scissors and they are wonderful! They are really sharp, I use them for ribbon cutting and detail paper cutting. I do not have the SU! ones so I have no comparison on that.

I prefer the cutterbees with the teflon coating ... you can still cut paper, ribbon, whatever ... but with the teflon it is so easy to clean if you do get something sticky on them. Just a preference thing really. You can still cut scissors with the ones that arent teflon coated, they just might get a little stickier, that's all.

My last post says "you can still cut scissors" ... I obviously meant "you can still cut stickers" ... lol ... duh!

I have at least 4 pairs of SU snips and love them. When I use them with other people they want them too. They cut great are easy to clean if they get sticky and they work wonderful on cutting out small details. Best of luck.

I'm jumping on the SU snips bandwagon here. They are GREAT! I just got mine a month ago and I keep wondering why I didn't get them sooner. I used to hate to cut out images and with them it's SO easy!

I don't have the SU ones but I do have the Cutterbee and love them. I used my M's coupon. I really want the teflon ones now too.
