Default Paper and ink for coloring

I'm thinking of stamping sets of greeting cards which others would then color, probably with colored pencils.

What paper should I use for stamping the images? Should I stamp on regular cardstock (I usually use Stampin' Up!) or on a special paper? The ubiquitous coloring books for adults seem to be printed on several different types of paper.

Should I use a particular ink?

Please share your thoughts and thank you!

There are a lot of people here who much more knowledgeable than me. Hopefully they'll jump in with their own comments. In the meantime, I'll let you know what I've learned.

Paper:
I buy Georgia Pacific (GP) 110 lb cardstock for coloring. It is not as heavy as the Recollections 110 lb cardstock that I use for my bases. Plus it's cheaper. About $6 for 150 sheets. This paper works VERY WELL with my Copic (alcohol ink) markers. I am sure it would work well for colored pencils as well.

Ink:
The ink you should use will depend on what you will use to color.
I use Memento (water based dye ink) because it does not bleed when using my Copic (alcohol) markers.
If were going to color with a waterbased marker, I'd go with a pigment ink or something that is waterproof, such as Ranger Archival.

From what I'm learning, the key is NOT to use like items together. For instance, do NOT use waterbased ink when coloring with waterbased markers. Do not use alcohol based ink (Staz-On) when coloring with alcohol markers.

I don't own any colored pencils (except some cheap watercolor pencils) so I'm not sure what paper or ink will be best. I suppose that would depend on the ingredients used to make your colored pencils.

Prismacolor pencils are wax. Dye ink should be good. I think Staz-On might smear because of the wax/alcohol mix. I'm sure that someone else will come along with better information than I'm able to provide. I'm really curious as to what they'll recommend for the colored pencils!

If you use a pigment ink and emboss it, the colored pencils sometimes knock the embossing off the image. I've used Ranger Archival Jet Black ink.

The paper is important; you need something with tooth that the pencils can adhere to. The Georgia Pacific is not the best choice. Canson drawing would be a good economical choice; Stonehenge even better but not quite as economical.
