speanburg4 is the gal who passed along the info and placed like 6+ orders from them. I remember she mentioned there were 3 sizes of thickness... 4" round or square ones. I think she mentioned the 'medium' thickness ones were the best ones for projects. She had a post with all this great info, but I think it got deleted because it was moved to B/S/T and the orders were completed. I'll PM her and see if she can re-post her great info, again.

And another FYI...Just wanted to share with any Canadians that I came across a Canadian supplier. Canada Coaster - in Dundas, ON <--click!
I contacted them regarding cost and this was the reply:

We have blank coasters 4 circle and squares, or printed leftovers various shapes and sizes. We sell them to scrapbookers for $20.00 per thousand plus shipping by UPS Standard.
Julie not sure about the black ones....I would call personally.
The light weight seem to be like Chili's coasters....kinda thin and flexible they are 1mm thick
Medium weight is 1.5 mm thick and not as flexible and
Heavy weight is 2 mm thick and not flexible. (these measurements are from the company)
I ordered light and medium but they have not arrived yet.

I must have 1.5 mm--they do not seem very flexible/bendy/thin? more like chipboard weight/thickness?

I'm sorry, I was at MOPS this morning. I usually check this place first thing in the morning, but of course not today. I had to call Tracy Kortum to order the blank ones. The ones I sent you are the 4" medium weight square ones. I have also ordered the round ones, also medium weight. The light weight ones are fairly flexible and thin(my dh has these at Bahama Breeze and Olive Garden) and the heavy weight ones are really thick, from what Tracy told me. The medium weight are perfect for my Big Shot. The post with all the info got deleted, like Avonlea said, since it was in the BST forum. I keep meaning to upload the pics of my candy dish and coatster frames, but something always comes up. Maybe now would be a good time. Let me know if you have any more questions. If enough people are interested, I wouldn't mind doing another group order, as I could really use some more round ones.

Thank you, Speanie! You know, I am just loving those things! You are SO right--that weight is just perfect for die cutting. You probably already knew this, but if you use 'em with your Cuttlebug dies, one coaster will perfectly match up with 4 of those aligned all on the cutting pad at the satme time!

I would also be interested in placing an order. I checked out the ones at Olive Garden, and they are lightweight, and bendable, so I would want the square meduim weight...
Ooooooh! I found speanie's info (love that nick! LOL) thanks to mlehmer's post in this thread:

Jules & others - so you *can* use the medium thickness ones in your BigShot/Cuttlebug? Hmm...my LSS (Local Scrapbook Store) has a Cuttlebug, but she thought the coasters were too thick. Might have to play with it again.

The medium weight is perfect for the CB! I've been using glue stick to adhere designer paper to it before running it through. Works like a dream. Of course I've alos done the same with cereal boxes! The coasters are thicker though.

Yes, Ma'am, you can indeed! WICKED, eh?!
But, I will say that my only experience has been the medium weight coasters from American Coaster specifically--I have never used coasters from any other manufacturer, so I can't say : "All medium weight coasters will be the right thickness for die cutting in a CB/BS/Sizzix", UKWIM? I don't even know if there IS an "industry standard" in the world of coasters for weight, etc. LOL!
HTE (Hope That Enables!) ;)

FYI....I bought a sheet of picture mat board at Mike's and it worked wonderful as chipboard. I bought a poster size sheet in a brick red color to mat a pic and used the left over in my Big Shot with CB dies and it cut like butter. It is red on one side and white on the other. I don't recall the price of the board but it was not expensive.
Just passing this info along for those that can't wait to order coasters and need some instant chipboard gratification. There is a hello card in my gallery with red CB chipboard letters using this mat board.
That's a good idea, Denise! I'm just too lazy to buy the matboard and try to cut it down to size, first . . . those dang coasters are just so convenient (well, and so dang CHEAP, too!) ! ;)

When you are calling the company dial extention 201...the receptionist is the one taking the blanck coaster order. I have tons of the light weight and just ordered heavy weight...so we will see how thick they are!
I might have to place another order for the medium weight ones!
Julie, I am with you on the convenience of using the coasters! Hence the reason I used "leftover" scrap pieces of mat board. I don't think I would have the patience to cut up the whole sheet either. But Mike's might have some scraps in their framing department for cheap. Hmmmm.
Well, I am waiting for someone here to muster up the courage to post another coaster order to get in on. Someone please post here too if you decide to do a group order!! I am subscribed to this thread and don't want to miss out
There has been a price increase since this was quoted. Medium weight coasters are now $15.60 per thousand so
the cost of a case of 2880 is $44.93 and the cost for the case of 1000 is $15.60 and the shipping cost that I quoted is
via UPS ground which is the cheapest - we are shipping from Sanborn NY
Just for your info - Light Weight are $13.00 per thousand and Heavy Weight are $19.50 per thousand.
