Okay, the Nuvo Crystal Drops have been around for awhile; so I am familiar with them (DIY gems). But what about all this other stuff that has come out? Glaze, mousse, whatever? Any first hand experience with these other forms? Guess it's too early to determine if they have a short shelf life....
I've used Nuvo Embellishment Mousse. So far so good. I think it could be spritzed with water if it became a little dry. So far so good with mine. I don't want it any wetter than the way it came or it will curl up the paper. I also have Nuvo jewel drops and gloss drops that I like. Unlike my pico embellishers, these nozzles do not clog up if you treat them decently. My experience is that pico embellishers just clog up on a whim no matter how well you follow the rules-burp them, pump the pins up and down after each use, replace the tops immediately, etc. Of my eight picos, three of them have clogged so I'm done replacing the nozzles.
I discovered I had included a jar of the Nuvo Mousse in a pre-order of some other stuff; so I will get to try it out first hand this week when the order arrives. I looked at the Jennifer McGuire video as well as another that went into detail about its properties and versatility. Paint with it, spray it, etc.! Looks great, but I think I want to see if the jar dries out too soon before I buy any other colors.
I also looked at a video on Glimmer Paste that has me tempted. There was a demo of making glittery stencil "die cut" shapes using freezer paper - hmm, interesting.
I purchased some Glimmer Paste not too long ago. While it looks really cool--beware!-- when you put the lid on. You have to made sure to really wipe well around the rim because that stuff dries like cement and then you can't get the lid off without putting it in a vise! I am not joking. I thought I'd wiped it pretty well and I missed some. It was crazy trying to get that thing open again.
The mousse is neat too, but I really haven't used it like I thought I would. I will say, it dries out easy, but you can spray it with some water and it comes back.
I have some of the Drops and they work well, its takes about 24 hrs for them to dry, so you have to plan ahead, but they come out looking very pretty.

Guess I will try just one of the Glimmer Paste, as I would be annoyed if the jar had dried rock hard in 6 months.
The video on the mousse that I found so useful is from Vickie P. (too hard to spell!): She does a great job of demonstrating all the properties of the medium.
I noticed MFT had a huge release recently so this weekend I looked for a product release close-up on youtube. Jennifer McGuire had one so while I was on her page, I looked at some of her other videos. She used the Mother Of Pearl Nuvo Mousee on a few cards and they looked BEAUTIFUL! I haven't given any attention at all to the Nuvo products in the past. But seeing these cards she made w/ this product - made me feel inspired! I haven't felt this way about a product outside of a stamp set in ages. In my head this would be some messy product and just unnecessary for my cards... but it looked so easy in the video and her results were gorgeous! Normally I would buy every color right from the start when I immediately love something I see. But I've been toning down my purchases and am starting with just the Mother Of Pearl and will see where it goes after that.... probably bankruptcy
Yep, I saw that video and that sparked my ordering the mousse. Naturally, after the video appeared the mother of pearl color was sold out. Maybe there is better supply now.
It's in stock right now at SimonSaysStamps and Blisty! It's cheaper at Blitsy and right now their clear stamps are up to 50% today! I'm about to place my order
Also, if you order off the Tonic Studios USA website, with each order they email you a coupon code for your next order at 10% off. I've found their prices to be really good. Every little bit helps!
