Default Nuvo embellishment mousse and brush?

I have some Inka Gold, and I like it (although I have not used it much yet) but I saw a side-by-side comparison of it with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse and the Nuvo has the advantage of being waterproof when dry.

So I looked at the Mousse on Ellen Hutson. They also sell the Nuvo dual tip brushes for applying the Mousse (or ink or anything else I suppose) onto paper or through a stencil. The brushes intriqued me.

Here's what I wonder: Has anyone used this product with these brushes (or I suppose any kind of bristle brush) and how do you clean them? I can't seem to find any video that does anything but show how nicely they lay down the product, no one talks about how to clean them after use.

I would just wash them (like any brush) before any product dries on the bristles.

Have used the Nuvo with stencils and with sponges I just soap and water washed them. Seemed like the Nuvo dried pretty fast on the stencil and was harder to get off if I didn't get water on it right away. Maybe a quick wash as soon as you are done?

Yes, you're probably right. I think - like with embossing paste - I'll have a tub of water to drop them in if I can't wash them immediately.

I ordered one color (platinum) to try and a set of the brushes. I guess I should wash them off quickly as well. I know I can work with sponges but I saw a video using the brushes through a stencil and liked the look.

I'd try coating my brush with Dawn dishwashing liquid like I do with watercolor masking fluid to make the brush easier to clean after use.

I have never heard of that. Do you use a mixture of Dawn and water?

I can see how it would work with masking fluid, since all you want from masking fluid is that it stay put until you remove it. But this is a product that stays on the project. Wouldn't the Dawn dilute it?

No dilution just straight Dawn. Just work it into the brush. Try it and let me know since I don't have this product.

I wouldn't use a brush. I think it would be too difficult to wash out. The only exception would be a foam brush. Is the mousse too thin to use a palette knife? When I took a class in which we used Inka Gold, we applied it with a dry cloth. I think it all depends on the consistency of the mousse, because when I think of mousse, I think very light and fluffy.
