Default Nestie size question (can you take another one).can someone verify

before I shell out another $100-- that if I have say, Large rectangle, and get a small rectangle, it will give me closer to a 1/8 trim when I layer rather than the 1/4 when I use them from the same set? does that make since? I may just order one and actually see, but with the 10% off and $1 ship at overstock I thought now would be the time to buy.
