Question Martha Stewart stuff

Who is into the Martha Stewart line? I think she ought to stick to cooking and flowers, myself! When I walk down the aisle at Michael's and see her line of stuff, all I see is aqua -- EVERYWHERE! As if that's the only color to create with. Don't get me wrong, I love aqua, but for heaven's sake, talk about overkill.

I have to say, I agree. I feel like when these people have their hand in too many things, they don't do a good job @ anything. I mean, she has her cooking/baking and flowers (as you said above), her line of stuff @ Walmart, her books, etc. How much can 1 person do, or should do? I have glanced @ her scrapbooking stuff @ Michaels, but it doesn't interest me @ all.

She does have other colors in her line. I actually like her stuff, particularly the punches. (I have several. ) I don't buy her paper and stuff because I already have a ton and I'd rather buy from myself. I got some cute stuff at Halloween.

When the MS scrapbooking line came out, I wasn't really that impressed. There wasn't anything special about the products, aside from the name. Most of what she has, I can buy from other companies which have been tried and tested by many. I saw her giving a demo of her scrapbooking line on her show, and again, I wasn't impressed. There were questions asked by some of the audience (like, what are the basic tools that we need to start scrapbooking?), and to me, MS's answer weren't that good. It's like, I could've answered those questions better myself. I think she's just jumping into the scrapbooking bandwagon because a lot of people are into it. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have some of her scrapbooking products. But given the more expensive price, they're not priority on my list...

At one point...at our Michael's store I found a bunch of things marked down...not on the actual item but on the back tags where the merch was hung. I have often thought about getting her JUMBO scrapbook...the thing is really a bohemouth (I just know I didn't spell that correct...) But what would happen when she was no longer selling scrapbook things? I don't know where I would find that size paper...it is way way way larger than 12x12. Some of her punches are nice when you can find them...

I like her punches and I really liked some of her Halloween stamps in October. Oh and her glitter is reeeaalllly nice, IMO. I want all of the colors. I love Martha but wouldn't buy her paper. I did buy a pack of dp once and returned it because it was so thin and cheap. Even though I used the coupon it wasn't worth it.

I like some of the punches and the 18 x18" albums. That large size is great for vignettes of things like school memorabilia, wedding suites, etc. I just wish she offered pure white pages in her albums as opposed to ivory pages. Perhaps I would purchase more if the prices weren't so steep.

I have all three pairs of her scissors and love them! I also bought the bandana paper it does seem thin but is so strong seems weird like a tissue wax/parchment paper combo... Love the patterns & Colors. Love the punches also. She does have a limited line and it does not change much. Just my opinion.

We have just begun a commission of 400 little booklets selling at $2.00each ;) ~ the ribbon forms the focal point. We can do many different papers and ribbons. When I did the prototypes, the MS ribbon was well within the 34 cents per booklet budget, comparable to Stampin Up ribbons in price, and the buyer liked the 2 with MS ribbon the best.

I haven't bought any glitter, but the price and volume is certainly good, I would not call it expensive!

I do tons of baby cards and paper items, and the MS embossed paper is wonderful 'baby' colors and good quality. When you get it on the roll, I would actually call it 'cheap' $$ wise compared to other brands of embossed 12 x 12.

I also agree the Halloween stuff was really cute. You can also use 40% off coupons now.

I'm not a Martha fan, but I like as much of her line as of anyone elses!

I'm not a huge Martha fan, but I'm not a huge Martha hater, either. Her name on a product line doesn't make me more likely to buy; nor does it make me less likely to buy.

That being said, her glitter is top-notch and very reasonably priced (even without a coupon) and it is packaged in some of the most convenient shaker-top jars I've seen. And her punches are also great quality and shapes that you don't see from other vendors.

I also love her glitter, punches are nice a little $$$. I was watching her show last week and she is really mean to her guests. Anyone else notice this? I can't imagine what it's like being on her staff.

I love the punches and glitter and some of the ribbons too. I've been eyeing the 18x18 scrapbooks -- I think they'd be wonderful to put kids artwork in. Do I love her whole line? No, but I like enough of it that it keeps me coming back. I especially like when they release the seasonal stuff -- there's always something from it that I need.

I loveMartha stuff!
She gives us quality products at a very reasonable price.
I find other manufacturers way more expensive !
I also think she is wise to stick to classic colors. Do we really need more of what is already coming out our ears in colors and patterns???

The only MS stuff I've tried is her ribbon box. I liked the look and used my coupon on it. But alas it only works with her ribbon. The pole was so big nothing else would fit. Back it went.

Wink Martha Stewart line

Since I drive 4 hours to even see a Michael's ,,,,Martha's stuff isn't in general use at my place...That said,,,I have purchased 5 of the punches.....Only one seems to "hang up" a bit and that is the rabbit punch. And----only paid full price for 2 of the punches.....Thanks Michael's for the 40% coupons and allowing out of towners to sign for them.;) ;)

I haven't tried her glitter.

However, I usually walk right past her stuff because of the price.

I will have to check her embossed paper as I think I have missed those. Good to know, Thanks. And I agree I think her ribbon is a great price. The twill for sure. I bought all the colors and the rolls seem to go on forever and for $4.99 Cdn that is a deal for us. I would love to see your little booklets. Have you posted a picture? I will check your gallery.

On the whole I don't like the MS stuff - it's just not my style. However, I do like the MS glitter -such a great value and so sparkly. I also bought a bottle of her decoupage glue; I wanted a glue I could take to crops to use for making chipboard albums. I was impressed with it - it has a brush attached to the lid which was oh so convient.

I think her stuff is high quality. I love the punches and they haven't messed up once for me on SU's thick cardstock. Not all punches can hold up to the test (even some of SU's). Love the glitter and the packaging is very classy I think. As for colors, I think Martha is one of those white, yellow, and pastel aqua kind of people. I love them too but I do go for a little more color most of the time. I think her elegance is in her simplicity of color.

Personally, I think she has too much money already!!! And her stuff doesn't seem to be all that special. I work way to hard for mine, so I'll spend it elsewhere...

I love her glitter. When I first tried it, I went back and bought one of every color they had. Her punches are nice and cut pretty cleanly. And I like her ribbons though I haven't tried those yet.

I like a few of her things, but truth be told, I only purchase them when they are in the clearance section. I really like her ribbon, but I find it far to expensive for purchase at regular price, I did get 5 rolls the other day for $0.88/pc!!

I was watching a show, maybe the Today Show and Martha was on. Meredith made a comment about martha's assistants that were there that day. She had three with her, to help her set up and get ready for the show and they have to wear matching outfits. That day it was something like khaki pants, white blouse and salmon colored scarves. Maybe that is a good idea so others know they are with martha, but it struck me as over the top, which is what we'd expect from martha anyway.

And I do think she is snarky to her guests. I have bought some punches from her line, with a coupon.

I was just looking at her website and thought that I would come to SCS to see what everyone thought before I bought anything. Sounds like the glitter is good. I wasn't too impressed by the colour selection of her ribbons. I love some of her punches and just wanted to know what kind of quality they were. Thanks for all the input on this topic. It helps a lot.
I didn't find her on line prices too bad. She even has a sale section. I guess we'll see what it adds up to with shipping and duties.

If Michaels does that to you again you can point out to them that the coupon no longer specifically excludes the Martha Stewart line. How can they enforce it if it's not in writing?

Martha is definately a business only kind of person but I personally LOVE her and am a total Martha Wannabe (sorry but I am) but I still see the snarkyness once in a while. I have been reading her actual blog lately and have been enjoying all the behind the scene stuff and personal photos from vacations and her properties etc. I also tape her show every day to watch on the weekend. I know, I know.....pathetic! But I love making my cards while watching her show.

Oh and if I ever find anything decent of hers in the clearance section I feel like I hit jackpot!

So I guess we all agree her punches and glitter is great and if you are ever in the market for those (or just like them) go for it. OH I also heard that her craft knife is one of the best out there too so I will likely get that one day.

I'm crazy about the MS glitter  wish I could have every color. The prices are good too and I like the shaker bottles. I have a set of her clear stamps that my DH got me and they're nice, not sure how they compare as I dont have many types of clear stamps. Haven't tried anything else, the glitter captures all my attention LOL!

I'm a little late to the party, but I really love Martha's line. I've always loved the paper crafts and packaging she uses in her magazine, but the products were hard to find. Years ago you could get some great items in her catalog, but it has been defunct for a while. Now that she is manufacturing them herself with the help of EK Success and Michael's, in the colors, materials, and patterns that she is known for selecting, I can finally get my hands on them. I think the ribbon is probably my favorite and I'm glad we can finally use the coupons on it.

I love Martha's line--the whole shebang! I mostly buy the ribbon, the glitter, the tools, and the labels! I have also bought some of the stamps, too!

Even when I don't have a coupon!

I just bought an 8.5 x 11 landscaped moss green album from her line. I really like the way it's put together - good quality. I really like the glitter, punches and ribbon - oh the ribbon! I LOVE the seasonal ribbons she puts out!!!!!!! I didn't really care for the paper packs though.

I work at Michaels and the paper crafting department is my department. When we were first getting the Martha stewart stuff, she had so many rules for setting up the aisle of her product, even was supposed to wear gloves to put up the big sign over the center of the aisle! The coupons used to not be allowed to be used on her stuff because of her, not by michaels choice. But yes, you can use your coupon on it now. When we started to sell her products, We were told that martha's products were supposed to be so great and so profitable and make up a certain percentage of our sales a day, and almost every day, we don't sell enough of her stuff. In my opinion, within a year, we will be downsizing her line at michaels. we already stopped having the display in the middle of the aisle for seasonal martha, now the only seasonal martha stuff we get goes on one of those little side panels at the end of an aisle. I have purchased some of her stuff, and it is not bad. I don't care for her ink pads, and I have a few of her punches, and the glittering glue is good. But i doubt i will ever buy one of her DP packs.
