I love my Prismacolor pencils and markers, but I don't have a marker that is the right color for caucasian flesh. Does anyone know what is the best?? I have a 24 set of the markers. I heard of Lyra, for flesh colors. Are they markers?? I'm making 40 baby shower invitations, and have colored 20 of them already with the pencils. (Head and outfit) It is very time consuming. The markers are a breeze for the baby's outfit though.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

I use a couple different copic colors but mostly E00.

I also use the copic marker EOO for flesh color, even if I have colored the rest of the image with prisma pencils. My light peach prisma pencil always seems to smear with the gamsol (no matter what ink I use). No problems with the copic!
I also use E00 for skin......E21 would also be nice for baby skin.
The coloring will be fast. I would invest in a copic for skin. I have never found a good pencil color for skin.
Lyra flesh tones are pencils. I like to use these for flesh and use either my Copic's or Prisma pencils for the rest of the coloring. I have used Copic's for coloring flesh on larger areas but I find that with babies or smaller areas of flesh I am spending more time corecting going over the line than anything else. The Lyra flesh tone pencils have all the flesh colors from light to dark.
I have some Prisma markers I got on ebay. I have been using the shade called Eggshell for flesh tones. I usually add a touch of very light pink for cheek colors.

With regards to marker types used for flesh tones: It does matter what type of ink you used when stamping the images! ;)
If you used a heat set pigment black ink to stamp the image, i.e. Brilliance Graphite Black, or A Muse Black Dye Ink, or Memento Tuxedo Black Ink then I'd use Copic E00 Skin White, with Copic R20 Blush for the cheeks. These inks are known to perform well with alcohol based markers, such as Copics.
If you used a bleedproof black dye ink, i.e. Staz-On Jet Black, to stamp the image, then I'd say the SU! Blush Blossom water-based marker will work well.
Staz-On and Copics do not mix well, and often reactivate each other and cause issues, so I just wanted to toss that little warning in there so you don't ruin what you've already worked so hard on.

I use three shades for my Copic skin colors - E000, E00 and E21. I just uploaded a card for today's challenge that shows it pretty well... see it here or closeups on my blog here
Before copics I used Eggshell marker by Prismacolor.

For the COPICS, I use E0000,E000,E00 and R02 for the "rosey cheeks."
When I am using Prismacolor colored pencils, I ususally use Light Peach and maybe some Peach for shading. The cheeks are usually Pink or Pink Blush (or is that Blush Pink? I don't remember which word comes first. I'm getting old! LOL!

Wow, thanks for so many tips!!!I went to Hobby Lobby after work and got the Prismacolor Eggshell. (Also picked up a light peach) ( I figured I'd stay with them, since thats the brand I already have. (plus they were $1.00 cheaper each) I've colored one baby so far, and it looks great!!!I used some Pebbles pink chalk to give Rosy cheeks! I even lucked out and used the right ink to stamp with, because nothing has bled or smeared!!!My friend that I am making the invitations for loves the ones she has gotten so far, so I know she'll love these even more!!!Thanks again!! You ladies are fantastic!!!

I use Prisma markers and I use peaches for skin tone. I usually start with pale peach, then if i need more color blend in light peach (a tad more orangey than pale peach). I really like these for babies or characters too, makes them more warm. I also use blush pink or ballet pink on the cheeks.
