Help! I tried searching but can't find this...I got a stain in my shirt from a Prisma marker (I was testing it at Michael's and it bumped up against my shirt--actually bled through to my shorts also), waaah. Anyone know if there is a way to get this stain out?
TIA!

I had the same problem with SU markers/inks getting on clothing. My daughter loves my toys!!! (Rubber stamps and ink a demo in the making I say)
One day she got ink on a favorite top I thought it was lost. Before I put it in the wash I poured hairspray on the stains because I know hairspray gets out pen ink. It did it! The stains were gone! I kissed the bottle of hairspray. (no , I am not crazy)
Just a tip: Use paper towel to blot the ink away after you pour hairspray on the stain it helps. Also, the cheaper hairspray is the best to use.
Another household tip: Nail polish remover removes glue on fabric
Thank you thank you! My big concern is that it was a Prisma marker (alcohol based), and I know that Sharpie marks are darn near impossible to remove from fabric...I'll try the hairspray!

I second (or third) hairspray! I've had this happen a couple of times and it worked beautifully. Be careful if you use rubbing alcohol as I have tried this to remove other stains and it sort of bleached out the fabric... and also my carpet! Oy!

I have also used Oxyclean. I make a paste with it and put it on the stain. If that does not work I put Oxyclean in a tub of water and put the shirt in it and leave it for a couple of days. being an organic stain (alcohol) it may work.
My family has made me learn alot about stains. LOL
I have another suggestion... I use this stuff called Lift Off #3 (the number is very important) that I got at Home Depot. Bottle is about the size of a Windex bottle, and it wasn't horribly expensive. I bought it 'just in case' and then NEEDED it when a bottle of deep blue spray exploded on really light carpet. It worked wonders and I totally recommend that everyone have a bottle on hand. It's also water based & biodegradable... what else can you ask for?

Just a report on results so far...thanks for all of your suggestions, I have tried everything except the Lift Off stuff and it did fade the stain but did not remove it completely. I tried a Carbona stain remover designed for ink, rubbing alcohol and hairspray (dabbing with a white rag each time). It did loosen & fade, but it's still there, waaah. Rereading the responses, I see I missed the OxyClean too--I actually have that but if that doesn't work I'll have to make a trip to Home Depot I guess!
Thanks again, just thought I'd pop in with results in case someone else is looking for this later!

This stuff is amazing-- I was at a friends house, sitting in a lovely, ivory upholstered chair and spilled a glass of red wine ALL over the chair. Oh my gosh, I thought I was going to die! My friend brings out a bottle of Lift Off and sprayed the wine stains --- they disappeared before our eyes. I've never seen anything like it!
Have you tried going over the spot with the clear blending marker? It removes the ink from paper, so why not cloth? Just an idea.
FYI- SU classic ink and markers will come out in the wash without needing to pretreat it. My cat knocked an open pad on my new white shirt, and it came out just fine.

I spilled black copic ink on a pair of light khakis. I used Grandma's Secret Spot Remover and a little of the Copic colorless blender. After washing it came right out !
Down here at the Copic Warehouse we swear by this stuff.
wow, great ideas...duh, I didn't think about the blender, and I love the idea of altering it if I can't get it out--I have to do that all the time with my cards, why not clothes? LOL

Once when I took a card making class, I somehow got spots of red ink on my shirt. It was all over the front of the shirt. (Don't ask me how I did it.) I used the Oxyclean paste method. Checked after the cold water wash cycle. Did another cycle after putting Shout on the spots that Oxyclean didn't get out. What Oxyclean didn't get out, Shout did.
