Default Magnetic sheets for storing dies

Hello,
I have been trying to figure out the best way to store all my thin metal dies, and I saw one on Pinterest where a crafter used the magnetic vent covers to store dies in pocket pages in a binder. I really like that idea, but when I check pricing, they are $4-5 each, which seems way too high!

Does anyone use this system, and have a good source of magnetic sheets, at a reasonable price? I've picked up magnetic tape at the dollar store, but it's less than ideal, and looks a bit messy.

Thanks for any info!

I save the magnets from free fridge calendars and other things we get in the mail and use those.

Lowe's price is about 6 dollars for three big sheets. And yes, Dollar Tree has one sheet for one dollar.

Most of the vent covers I've seen are a 3 pack for $5 or less. Frost King E/O Magnetic Vent Covers-MC815 - The Home Depot

Thanks for the quick answers. I didn't realize the vent covers are in multi-packs, so that definitely makes them more affordable. I'll be checking the dollar store too, thanks!

I used a fridge magnet but it was pretty floppy. Just got some Art Bin magnetic sheets and love them – super heavy and sturdy and stiff enough to hold the dies in place. It may not be cost-effective if you have hundreds of dies but I didn't need many; $6.50 for 3 sheets on Amazon.

I've been using the vent covers for several years now. I cut laminated cardstock to the size I want, use my tape gun to attach a correspondingly-sized piece of vent cover, and stick the dies onto it. I slide that whole unit into a sleeve to put into my storage. I use CD sleeves for most of them, but I have some that are too large. For those I cut down 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" page protectors to 5 1/2" square (and lop off the binder-hole strip). I have them all organized in a Really Useful Box on a shelf of the media tower that also houses my punches...

I found the vent covers at Walmart for 2/$3.50.

For sets with matching stamps, I cut a piece to fit inside the stamp case (the CD cases from SU) and attach it to the inside of the box to keep everything together.
