Default Ink problem

I bought the Palette Noir because I had heard such great things about it (and Basic Black is just too purple). I've had it for six months & loved it.
Now I'm having a problem. I am stamping the Noir on SU! whisper white and then colouring with the SU! markers. My inks are running! I've ruined several images by having the Noir smear into my colour, especially the lighter colours. I even tried stamping one evening, letting dry for 24 hours, and then colouring the next night. Same problem. Any suggestions?
I do have a stazon, but would really prefer to use the Palette Noir.

Are you saying that you have never had it smear before then all the sudden on the exact same paper you have been using it smeared? I ask this meaning, did you open a new pack of whisper white and now it is smearing? Or did it just suddenly start smearing same paper, same ink? Did you re-ink your pad?

I did use the markers with the ink for my Christmas cards, and I don't remember it smearing then.
Hmm, now that I think about it, I did just open a new pack of paper last weekend. Maybe its the paper?
