Default Imaginisce I-majicut Ribbon Cutter and Sealer

Has anyone tried this? I'm eyeing it and wondering if it's worth the almost $16 price tag. Sealing (burning) ribbon edges is so tedious I am tempted to give this a try.

I found some reviews on Amazon and I've decided that I don't need this gadget after all. Sounds like it eats up batteries and doesn't sound like a good value to me.

Have you heard of Fraycheck? It's sold in the notions department of fabric/craft stores and will seal the ends of ribbon without having to burn them. It dries totally clear...

I have one. I find it difficult to measure ribbon accurately, but it does leave a clean line that's not bulky.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll check out Fraycheck. I never thought of that and for a couple of bucks it's worth a try!

I love coming here to SCS with questions and getting all this lovely help and advice!

Is this what Jennifer McGuire was using to make her shaker cards?? (It seals the vinyl edges) She has a recent video on this!)
Could I Ask where you found it for $16 ??? Sorry just saw-Amazon.. I think JM was using different one.

i just bought the walnut hollow hot tool and i can use it for sealing plastic edges. so i think this is more helpful for sealing vinyl rather than this ribbon sealer.

I had the ribbon cutter thing and it lasted about through about two days of use. The wire broke so I tossed it. Now they offer replacement wires so I guess it happens. I don't use enough ribbon that it is worth another go around.

I bought it and took it back the next day. Can't remember why since its been a while but it had to be bad for me to take it back!

I use either fray check or just a dab of glue on a scrap and run the end of the ribbon ever so lightly through, just barely touching the ribbon. It dries clear and never frays.

I had one until my kids threw it out, cleaning out my garage and "helping" me out as a surprise!! Frankly, I don't even miss it!

To me this seems like another one of those tools like the Fastenator or my Heidi Swapp ribbon iron or the Making Memories grommet setter or the Making Memories tag maker tool or the old Around the Block tag gun, etc. All totally useless tools that sat around after the few first few attempts to use them until they were tossed or donated to some poor unsuspecting charity.
