Default If you can only buy one cricut cartridge it should be...

the Storybook cart. I got it as an early Christmas gift from hubby. I absolutely love it! You can do sooo much with it. It's fabulous!

I like the storybook cartridge too but the doll ones are the ones I went for first.

I really have made good use of the 'Paperdoll Dress Up' for Halloween & Christmas cards. Have also made good use of the limited edition Christmas cartridges - tags, snowmen & snowflakes. I thought I would use my font cartridges more but must get to scrapbooking my summer trip then will use them for titles.

I am 'hooked' and can't single out ONE must have cartridge. I am new (since Sept) to the Cricut - didn't think I needed or would use it. I admit I don't NEED my Expression but I do USE it! Luckily,I have a spot to leave it out in my crafting area so it is easy to just pop in a cartridge, make a selection and cut.

I've had my cricut for a year now but I haven't bought many cartridges, not that I haven't wanted more, just couldn't afford them. I think I have about 7. I also like Stretch Your Imagination. I thought about the Paperdolls cartridge but wasn't sure if I would use it much. I'd like to see some cards that were made using it so I could get some ideas.

I have had the original Cricut when they first came out and now have the Create. The must have cartridges I think depends on what you are doing if you are Scrapbooking and have themes pages with family the 2 different paperdoll ones are awesome. If you are wanting cartridge for bulletin Boards (Teacher) the my world, my community and 50 states are great. The cartridges all come down as to what strikes your interest.

I am one who stamps and Scraps. I love the TAgs, Bags and Boxes cartridge. I get the basic shapes cut out and I can embellish with my other tools I have. I also am working on a Hawaii album and the Life's a beach has been perfect for that.

I guess I should have worded the title to my original post differently. I didn't mean that this is the best cartridge out there. I know there are several wonderful cartridges. I am just thrilled with it for what I have done so far, especially since I don't have very many.

Sorry if I came across wrong!

This is a tough question, I tried to purchase a range of cartridges to fit a variety of uses. Although some I bought just because, and some I have were free so they're just nice to have. I started with I will only need a few, I'm up to 53 cartridges, is that still a few?! LOL!!!

My basic supply list is:

Animal Kingdom and/or ZooBalloo
Doodle Charms and/or Stretch Your Imagination (multi seasonal)
Everyday Paper Dolls
Paper Doll Dress Ups
Joys of the Season (or any other Christmas cartridge)
New Arrival
Tags, Bags, Boxes and More
Walk in My Garden
Winter Woodland
Beyond Birthdays (lots of great sentiments for use on cards or on pages)
Wild Card

Others that are great for more theme specific uses are:

Sports Mania (or the single sport solution cartridge)
Stand and Salute (great for Americana or Military)
All the Disney Cartridges - granted I don't use the figures much but the extras are awesome)
Fabulous Finds ( I like the hardware cuts )
From My Kitchen
Sweet Treats
Paisley
My Community and My World
Paper Pups
Life's a Beach
Designer's Calendar
Graphically Speaking (awesome for teenagers)
A Child's Year

Alphabets -

Any and all that appeal to you, and remember many cartridges that are loaded with images also have an alphabet

Enjoy

Stretch Your Imagination. It's very versatile. I really like Storybook as well.

It depends on whether you want a font cartridge or a shape cartridge. I think that if I could buy only one shape cartridge, it would be Doodlecharms. It's very versatile and covers just about all the holidays/seasons/occasions. As far as a font cartridge, it would probably be Opposites Attract, because there are many options and several fonts on this one. It's very hard to choose just one, though. I'm up to 27!
