Default I-top, SCAL, and Cricut

Has anyone used the Cricut to cut out the paper for the brads? I have SCAL and was thinking of tracing the templates onto paper, scanning, then using them in SCAL. Has anyone had success with that? I saw on someone's blog (not linked from here) they used one of the actual cricut carts. (i think accent essentials) and had the directions to download, but i was afraid to dl them, the site seemed a little hinky.

TIA!
