Wink I think I have a paper problem

this is my backup SU card stock. This is what doesn't fit in my 2 drawer filing cabinet. It also doesn't count my OTHER 2 drawer filing cabinet that is completely full of Bazzill paper or my pack of PTI card stock or my Hero Arts textured card stock. Or my 3 sterilite containers of other types of paper like glossy and metallic and vellum. Or my huge stash of 12 x 12 paper or my small stash of 12 x 12 card stock or my stash of 8.5 x 11 patterned paper. In this cabinet of backup card stock I have 4 or 5 packs of cameo coral and at least 5 packs of taken with teal alone. I have colors I don't even remember existed.

Needless to say, I think I have enough cs to last me a while.

Problem? I don't see a problem.

This is my SU cardstock and pattern paper. Like you, I've also got a file cabinet of other cardstock - PTI, Bazzill, Amuse, etc. A scrapbook store went out of business a few years ago and sold off all his Bazzill and specialty paper by the case and I bought whatever I could, so I'm also set for a very long time.

I would say you only have a problem if it gets wet or mildewed! Otherwise, I think you have a fantastic stash! More photos, please. Seeing other people's stashes makes me feel better about my own.

That's your back up stash? I don't think you have a problem, I think you have vision.

Paper is relatively cheap in the grand scheme of things so I see no problem at all! That said, I can get away with just one extra pack of something that's retiring. I did get 2 packs of Pretty in Pink and 2 of Bermuda Bay when it first retired and they're still unopened.

I don't think you have a problem either, just a great appreciation for color and pattern. I'm like you, a paper wh**re. The only advantage of having only big box craft stores here is the lack of beautiful paper or I'd be in bigger trouble. That and its costly to ship. But, if I'm at an LSS or convention, it's deadly for my wallet.

As for your addiction, now I know who to ask when I'm seeking that special shade I can't find anywhere.

I'll update soon with more of my stash so y'all can feel even better.

The worst part is, I hardly ever use this stuff. I haven't had a chance to make anything in a while.

Ladies...I really have a problem.....vertical file full of SU Paper, 5drawer dresser full of SU. 2 drawer file cabinet full of SU and Papertrey, 3shelves that hold 3 stacks of 8.5 x 11 paper packs across and at least 15 high, a shelf in closet same room full of SU paper. Next room: paper tower from floor to ceiling FULL, armoire in guest room full of 12x12 SEI and Authentique paper, rack of 4 shelves in den, holds 2 piles of 12 x 12 paper across with room for a stack of 8.5 x 11 in the middle. This rack is so full of 12 x 12 papers and pads that I am out of room. I have over 800 6x6 pads...no kidding. I am trying to go thru all the beautiful papers and cut my stash in half. We put new flooring in the entire house and after moving all that paper....I decided I need to get rid of it. YIKES!
Blessings.

I don't think this is a problem. It makes me happy just to look at my beautiful cardstocks sitting like a rainbow on their shelf.

Cardstock has changed (what hasn't) and is not the same wonderful quality anymore nor is it the same color. From a sample I received about 4 years ago, of a color called "absynthe", I just bought 100 sheets for next years' Christmas cards. The color is not the same, but the same family. And the quality is like other cardstock I've bought recently that's advertised as "88 lb"; The top sheet on the stack curls slightly. Even 65 lb. cardstock didn't used to curl like that. Also, considering the trouble I've had finding mettalic and REALLY black cardstock this year, you're really lucky to have back-stock of those.

So treasure your paper from years past, because it's the best you'll ever see. I feel like I want to hug my old stuff every time I use it. Great cardstock sometimes MAKES the card.

Agreed, Gale!

Amber...I saw your last post of paper...the first that showed up in the daily postings in the gallery...and thought THAT was a lot of paper. Then I saw more pictures, and more, and more still.

I about went THUD on the floor. I'd need and insurance rider for all that paper!!!

Makes me feel a whole lot less guilty about having 14 duplicate packages of SU cardstock and keeping some retired colors I love. I only have about 10-12 inches of patterned paper. I thought that was plenty!

I wish my paper were remotely as organized as yours, Amber! It is something to aspire to.

wowsers! that's a lot of paper - and so organized! (and I admit I feel a bit better for my own stash after seeing that glorious display - I could almost picture myself running my hands lovingly over all those cutie 6X6 paper pads!)

I have to say it is gorgeous - the colors are just so beautiful, it's really fun to see.

I don't have a lot of space and would lose my mind trying to keep track of it all, so my current supply of cardstock and patterned paper pales in comparison.

My 8-1/2 x 11" cardstock, if stacked up, would measure about 32 inches high;
12 x 12" patterned and a little bit solid, 3 inches;
scraps, about 4 inches;
6 x 6 patterned, about 25 pads;
8 x 8 patterned, six pads;
and a few small cardstock pads, about 6 inches high;

plus
drawing, watercolor, specialty papers etc., less than 6 inches.

I just got it all reorganized yesterday evening - and I thought I had too much!

Thanks for sharing - it's always fun to see others' collections.

Wow Amber, that is a lot of paper!
And you are so-o-o- organized too .
However, I don't know of anyone who makes more cards in a year than you make, so I am sure you go through a lot of paper each year

I would be on overload if I had to decide which paper to choose . I would spend all of my time looking at all the pretty paper and never get any cards done LOL

I am trying to organize my paper. I only have 2 cropper hoppers. I love scrapbookingforless.com when they have 2 12x12 sheets of Bazzill card stock for 65 cents. I can't stop buying paper. I looooove paper.

I will try to do pics of dies after the holidays. I have a four bedroom house with a den I use for paper storage too.
Merry Christmas all!

Forgot to say no kids at home...all grown and on their own.

First off, I love your tag line, especially as a cat person - so adorable!!!

And, kudos to who started this thread! I'm such a paper junkie, it has made me feel so much better about "my collection" or should I say "addiction"!! I have loved colors since I was a young child, coloring, etc., and the rainbow of card stock, the beauty of designer papers, and then creating a card......well, what more can I say! I just don't know if I can ever use up what I have in my lifetime, perhaps I will try!

Thank you all for being here and sharing your paper love as well

Ditto what she said. I love how all of the titles are written on the spine so you can read them - I'll have to start doing that with any paper I buy so I can read the titles without pulling everything out.

Love all of your small paper pads, especially the SU ones which I somehow have missed buying?!

After seeing all of the paper goodness I feel the urge to go visit some online stores for some paper shopping.
