I think the descriptions made it sound like there was more paper than the pics showed. I guess the camera takes 10 pounds off of paper. LOL

All I can say is I would live in terror of silverfish (those bugs that like to eat paper)! I too am a paper junkie.

No problem, if you use it frequently and don't have hoarding issues.

I don't buy multiples of anything unless it's a high-quality, limited edition item or something that's needed for a specific project. Designer colors can go stale fast.

People tend to have a lot more paper crafting stuff than they can remember. I keep track of my stash on an Excel spreadsheet in order to avoid impulse buying and regrets.

I do go through a lot of paper every year. I produce thousands of cards each year for the various things I support. I am trying not to buy anymore for awhile. I have most all my paper together by brand. I am going to have to start going through it after Jan 1, 2014.
Merry CHRISTmas ladies!

Do I dare confess this? I didn't even think about what I had done yesterday when I was posting on here. It was only today as I got home from a loooong day at the office and saw the Stamping Up box that came today sitting on my desk. Last week I was going through the Clearance Rack, and bought a paper pad "just because". When I got it, I LOVED the colors and patterns. (It was the "Print Poetry" stack.) I went and ordered FOUR more right away before they ran out! So, umm, yeah, I miiiight have a paper problem.

I missed that one on the clearance rack before it ran out, I'm hoping they keep making the smaller size paper pads. Not that I need anymore paper mind you, but it's so pretty .....

My 8-1/2 x 11" cardstock, if stacked up, would measure about 32 inches high;
12 x 12" patterned and a little bit solid, 3 inches;
scraps, about 4 inches;
6 x 6 patterned, about 25 pads;
8 x 8 patterned, six pads;
and a few small cardstock pads, about 6 inches high;
I did a rough measuring and counting and came up with the following:
8-1/2 x 11 cardstock on shelf-14 inches.
12 x 12 patterned and a little bit solid-6 inches including scraps
6 x 6 patterned-16 packs
8 x 8 patterned-2 packs
extra cardstock and packs in file drawer-9 inches
plus one pack of watercolour paper

I have begun a sort-out of all my papercrafting stuff - including patterned paper. I don't have nearly the amounts of some of you, but I have more than enough. I have several nieces who are just getting to an age where they are getting into crafting. I have been passing along stuff I don't use anymore (along with some new things) to them as gifts lately. They LOVE having all this neat, new, pretty stuff to use and very happily craft away, while I get to clear out items from my stash that are no longer to my taste. Win-win for everybody.

Hmmmmm, paper problem. Could someone define "paper problem". Having a lot of paper isn't a problem. Not having paper is a problem. (Yes, I have a huge paper rack.... all full of paper.)

At this point in time, there's no chance of my having a paper and art supplies problem. My stash is kept manageable in terms of use and storage.

I learned some very irritating lessons with loads of expensive books read only once and stashed designer sewing fabrics that cost a small fortune and were never used. Aside from some special interest reference volumes, still trying to get rid of the books and will probably end up donating them. Like so much pretty paper, the garment fabrics were beautiful in their day, but they went out of style and were given away. I lost interest in the couture sewing they required as well.

The old KISS adage rings true for me: Keep It Simple, Stupid.

I am vicariously living Amber's life through the pictures…the life of someone who owns a dream stash! As someone else mentioned, I'd have a very hard time creating instead of looking at the beautiful patterns lovingly. *groan* Even with my small pile of 6x6" pads, I sometimes spend more than a few minutes flipping through them, even smelling them sometimes.

Amber, I was thinking "that's not so much..." until I read that you have 800 6x6 pads. Wow! That IS a lot! You must have an amazing craft space. Lucky you!

Thank you for this thread. I'm trying to use my stash but some how managed to grab some Christmas papers and loads of solid cardstock over the past few weeks.

I went through one Christmas pad of paper and pulled all the designs that were only Christmas and made envelopes and matching cards for Christmas. That was fun and different for me. I used 2/3 of them and will donate the rest.
