Default I just got an Ott Lite!

Joanne's was/is having a 50% off all their Ott Lite's, so I broke down and bought one last night! Regular $200.00 for $100.00, how could I not???!! I love it! It is amazing the difference it makes, I can actually see the exact colors of stamps/ papers, etc without either assuming and hopes it matches or walking outside or in my bathroom for a quick color check! The light in my craft room is not the greatest, but boy am I glad I got it. I have been stalking it for awhile now! I just had to share this with all of you enablers!! Forums at Splitcoaststampers

I have one in my craft room. I'd love to have another for when my stamping friends come over and we need 2 tables. I really can't justify it, but it would be nice to have. Eileen

I'm happy for you. It really does make a difference. I got a small table-top one a while back.

I realized when I scanned my cards before that there were actually white places where I had missed coloring with my markers!

When I bought mine, a lady at the store said she had 3 of them. One for her craft spot, one for her bedside table to read by, and one in her den. Ancient eyes need good light!

I have so been wanting one but can't justify the cost yet. Ask me in a year though. Maybe I can bring myself to get one.

FYI the small desk model I got really works good and only cost me about $40 with a 40% off coupon at Michaels.

Gotta love mine! So glad I did it - and it did take me a while to talk myself into spending that much money all at once on myself! Enjoy!

I was just showing these to dh today. He told me that the back yard has natural light, I should just go stamp there. He sucks.

Check Joann's for unadvertised specials. Right before leaving on vacation (a week or so ago) I found an ott-lite marked down to $50 (from $270). Model name is ARIAL - it might be a model that was being discontinued...don't know & didn't care it was such a deal! I should have picked up another & will be going back to see if they have any left.

I bought myself one for Mother's Day and boy am I glad. It has a magnifying window as well. I am now enjoying my hobby at night. Before I could only stamp or scrapbook during the day when the sun shined in.

BTW I was gone for a week and when I came back, there was a map under my OTT lamp. Guess hubby found a good use for my lamp as well. LOL

I bought my tabletop light about 5 months ago when Joann's had them on sale for 50% off and I think I made the BEST investment! When they are on sales again for 50%, I need to stock up on bulbs. I just Love mine.

Check out the Lowe's and Home depot for the ott light too. I know Lowes just put what they had on clearence for 56.00, reg. 119. and that was for the floor lamp, of corse they don't have any left. I have found that those stores sell those lights at alot cheaper cost.

I'm getting my husband one for Father's Day. He does woodworking and I know it would be a big help. He bought me one for Christmas a couple of years ago and I don't know what I would do without it.

I just discussed with my DH I'd like another, and about the 50% sale at Joann's, with free shipping. I ordered mine yesterday. It will be great when my stamp group comes over.
Susanerne: Tell your DH that their are beds of flowers outside, and he can sleep there. Just kidding

Does anyone know how long the bulbs last? Do you need to stock up on them?

I've had my original Ott lite for at least 8 years, and haven't had to replace the bulb yet. I've considered getting one when I see a 50% sale just to have on hand.

I may have to go out and purchase an Ott Lite...

I currently have the light that sits on the shelf next to the Ott Lite (it's probably the generic version) and I think it may have a short in it. The bulb goes out and then I tap in and it goes back on. Maybe this week I'll get out to pick one up...

I can't stamp with out the proper lighting, right?

I noticed that my Wal-Mart has the Ott-Lites in their sewing department. I believe the Task Lamp is around $37.

Right now, I use a daylight bulb in my regular swing arm lamp. (Too bad a person can't get a tan from this too.)

Question to those that had had Ott lites for a long time-I heard from a guy that when the "ballast" goes out it is hard to find a replacement. Now, I thought the light was the ballast. Grief. So then, are the replacement lites ballast lites???? This sounds confusing. Sorry

I don't know the answer to the ballast ?. Maybe you could e-mail the Ott light people. I'd be interested to know the answer, too.
