I haven't opened it yet. I was going to wait until Christmas since this is what dh wanted to get me but he doesn't want me to wait. He wants to see what it can do! lol I just bought a Cuttlebug less than 3 months ago. I wanted the Cricut but since it was so costly, I decided to get the CB. I love the CB for the embossing but think the Cricut will be awesome. I just don't know where to start! lol Any suggestions? Is it hard to figure out?
I got the Cricut Create at Michael's today for $149.99 and it came with a cartridge and all the cartridges are on sale for $29.99. I got the Joys of the Season for $29.99 Yahoooo!!! Regularly $89.99 each

My husband was out this morning at 4am and made it to Wal-mart by 4:45am after making 1 stop first. He went to get me an Expressions machine. Well after a 1/2 hour and talking to 3 different managers taht had know idea where they were, he got what else he went for and left without one. He then went to A.C.Moore and got me the Expressions bundle that they had on sale for a doorbuster. So I got the machine ,4 cartridges,5 pens, 12x12 mat and the downloadable software!! It was a nice surprise!!! The cartridges that came with it were:
Stretch your Imagination
Paper Pups
Accents Essentials
Plantin Schoolbook
I also went to Michaels last night and pick up 3 other cartridges for $29.99 each.
Now I can't wait to play with it all. I will probably wait until Christmas. I don't think I will have time before then and it was part christmas gifts too.
We picked names for Christmas and my youngest daughter [28] has my name. She's been hinting about getting me the CriCut Essentials but I'll never be able to afford the cartridges... I do like it, though, we used hers at the last VSN and it was great!
Here in Canada , there doesn't seem to be anywhere to get that sort of stuff on sale. I wish Micheal's would let us use coupons for CriCut products. Just think of how much they would sell!
Anyway, ... good for you...enjoy!!!

To everyone who got one today-I would not wait to try it out. I've read about 3 people so far (one here, one at 2peas and one at the cricut board) whose E did not work and they had to exchange it.
I too was at WalMart at 4:30 this morning to stand in line for my Cricut!! It's a xmas gift from hubby (though he slept in!!). People in line had no idea what I wanted! I got it for $199 (the expression) and it can with 2 cartridges. I am off to Micheal's tomorrow (it's an hour drive) to see if they have any cartridges left. Hoping for the best. I found some on sale at http://www.hallmarkscrapbook.com/ Enjoy your cricuts, I have already gotten mine out of the box and have cut a bag.... can't wait to make more goodies!
I second the advice to try it out beforehand. Mine is also a Christmas present and I'm exchanging it tomorrow. The cutting mechanism worked for about 20 cuts, then just pooped out on me. I've had the original for years, so I'm more than a bit frustrated to have my new toy break so soon :( :(
I would advise also to check it out ... it's super easy to put back in the box to wrap up for Christmas. Me and my girls went to Michael's on Thanksgiving night ~ I didn't know they had the cartridges on sale.. I am not an after Thanksgiving shopper so to speak, so I didn't read the ad, but did print off the extra 20% off coupon (not for Cricuts) so we went on out to the store.. we got there 15 minutes before opening and there was a large crowd and they let them in.. they swarmed the rack in front that had hundreds of cartridges on it.. we got the Pooh on because it has Tigger on it and the new Calligraphy one as well.. we got Sports Mania a couple of weeks ago..
Congratulations!

So far it worked good. I did tear the paper a bit during a couple of the cuts. I turned the pressure up and it worked better. I guess that was the right thing to do??? I've never even seen one of these used so I'm completely new at this. My Cricut came with these two cartridges:
Accents Essentials
Plantin Schoolbook
Now I can't wait to get more cartridges! Oh and one more thing, do you have to insert the mat the same way each time or can you rotate it? Seems like it would last longer if you could rotate it. I have the Cuttlebug and rotate my plates regularly so they'll hopefully last longer.
We have a cricut expression infomercial on every once in a while - can't even remember which channel but there is a feature where it should find the paper so you can theoretically place the paper on the far side etc... I only bought mine yesterday so I don't know that much yet but they did emphasize this as a feature.
