Today when i went to go use my vanilla craft pad, it looked as if it was wet and water had gotten itno the ink pad. to my knowledge this has not happened and i've only used it once or twice. I took a paper towel and blotted off what looked wet and watery. i wondered if this was normal for craft pads or if water really might have gotten in it without my knowledge. when i tried to use it, it still looked okay but i don't know if its "back to normal yet." Can anyone help? Thanks!

I have had the same problem with my craft spots. At first I was storing them upside down (like the classics) and my demo told me that that was the problem, but I have had them right side up for months now and they (not all, but about 4-5 out of 12) appear watery. I'm anxious to hear if others are having the same problem and if there's a solution. Shelly
I store my craft pads upside down, in other words, so the pad is on the bottom not on top. If I get any water or oil looking stuff on the surface, then I just blot it up.

I was told that Craft spots dry up very quickly by my upline--not good SU!

Oooh, I was thinking about ordering all the craft spots on my next order. I'll have to re-think this if they dry up fast, as I know I won't use them nearly as much/often as the dye ones.
Pigment inks, such as SU! Craft, have a tendency to separate. You can remix it by using a knife or the back of a spoon to work the ink back down into the pad.
This is not a defect, and can occur with any pigment ink. If you take a look at the reinker bottles, you'll see a more vivid example of the separation that occurs. This is why they advise shaking the bottles well, prior to reinking the pad.
If your Craft Spots arrive so dry that you really can't use them, contact your SU! demonstrator immediately, so she can get in touch with SU! to see what can be done to rectify this for you.

That isn't always the case, just sometimes.

I have all 48 craft spots and not one is dry. I've had them for 8 months. I leave them upside down and store them in the SU boxes that background stamps come in. I really love them -- especially for solid stamps, when IMHO, craft gives MUCH better coverage.
Never settle for defective merchandise. SU is excellent at customer service.

This was my experience as well, but nothing that a little love rub with the back of a spoon didn't cure.:mrgreen: And I have the separation issue as well, but have accepted that craft ink is just like that. I found it to ooze much less if I store them upside down. The more I use my craft ink, but more I love it, and I'm finding that it loves being used more too since it tends to behave better (and separate less) if I use it regularly.;)
I have many of the regular-sized craft ink pads. The last 4 I have purchased have come back dry. My demo has contacted them and they provided me with a new reinker. It stinks though on those...once they are that dry, the reinker doesn't seem to help much. I like them to be as goopy as the white was when it was new.
Shannon, have you tried the spoon trick? It's worked for me when my spots seemed dry just after I opened them. A little love massage did the trick!:mrgreen:
I didn't use a spoon or knife. I used a stamp and smooshed it in and around. They were just very dry. My demo even thought so. My friend just had a vanilla pad do the same thing. I like the craft inks better, however, sometimes contimplate switching to classic again...although I don't like it when I forget the ink on my stamps and have to scrub with Clorax Clean Up. I used basic brown on my canvas and forgot about it for about an hour. It was good and dried on and I had to scrub like crazy.

Has anyone tried the ink refresher. You can find it at www.jadekraft.com - it is called perfect ink refresher. I have ordered some so I can't speak from experience if it works.

I have all of the craft spots & originally stored them upside down. Went to use one day & noticed the same thing (sort of clear stuff had separated from the ink). I just worked it back in with the bottom of a spoon - but - now also store them right side up. Figure the teeny ink pad is so small that the ink will always be close to the surface & I've not notice any more separating of the ink mixture. All are very juicy.
