Yes, I love my SU heat gun. I understand they are made by Milwaukee. I read reviews before buying, then when my Demo had 25% off sales, that's when I ordered.

Hard to find "more heat" since they cut the wattage on all of them a couple of years ago. I bought 3 and sent all but the SU one back because they took too long to melt embossing powder. SU has two speeds, one of which is useless. It takes longer to heat than the old ones did, but it doesn't blow your powder all over like others do.

I've had my Marvy heat gun (maroon) for about 13 years, and I use it a lot. It still works as well as the day I bought it.

I also have a Marvy. Although I don't use it that often, it works well when I do use it.

I have the old marvy (non-glittered case) and I have a SU that I keep as back up and they both work great. A friend has the newer Marvy and it doesn't get as hot as my old Marvy but it works fine. In fact, she prefers that her doesn't get as hot so she doesn't worry about burning her paper.

For years I used an old heavy duty heat gun like those sold in Lowe's and Home Depot. I inherited my first one (an ancient one that saw tons of use) from my then hubby who was an electrician. When the motor finally gave out a couple years ago, I considered getting a craft model but instead went with the Wagner HT1000. It has two settings: 750w/1000w.
Shop Wagner HT1000 Heat Gun at Lowes.com

Good news:
On the low setting, it gets twice as hot as the 300 watt craft models without twice the blow. (Yay!) It melts embossing powder quickly. It can be used to dry ink and paint quickly. I've read that it can also be used to strip paint, roast coffee beans and bend PVC pipe.

Bad news:
It gets twice as hot as the 300 watt craft models. If not careful, you can easily scorch your paper. (The trick is to keep it moving and not hold it too close to the paper.) The metal tip gets very hot (ouch!) and it does not have a resting wire so you have to be careful where you set it while it cools.

I have the Milwaukee heat gun. Bought from Amazon. Approx $40 ? It's my first heat gun. So can't compare to others but it works great!
