I bought a scor-pal and it is now a 'must' have for me. I told a friend about it, she bought it and is very satisfied also. It makes multiple scoring a breeze since you don't have to keep repositioning the item being scored. I made about 4 dozen Post-it covers and tiny Nugget purses for a shower and it was fast and easy. My daughter was visiting (she is not a craftsperson) and she was impressed. She wanted me to show her how to make an quick, easy gift card card (??)
Before I bought the scor-pal, I called the number on the website and talked to a lady (someone later said it was probably the owner) who was very helpful. She talked me through how to use it while I had the scor-pal on my computer screen. She must have been on a cordless phone because she said she was going downstairs to look up a store near me where I could see it, try it out and purchase. As it turned out, I drove to the store since they did have some but bought online on the scor-pal site. (I do support the independent stores but I bought the scor-pal, an extra scorer and paid less for these items plus shipping than the local store with tax.)
Hope you enjoy using your scor-pal (when you purchase it).

Reason: correct grammer
lmg........There are several threads in this forum in reference to the Scor-Pal. Just do a search. You may find the information in them very helpful in your decision.
I have one and feel it was well worth the $$. I feel you just can't make a neat, clean fold without scoring then using a bone folder for creasing. This tool can be used to make all kinds of projects.
I was one of those card makers that never thought scoring was that important. Well, I bought a Score Pal at Archivers with a coupon and totally LOVE it. My folds look so much better and making cards like the gate fold and others are easy and fun !! LOVE IT!

I also wondered if I would use it enough to justify the cost. Answer: yes. I use it on every card I make. It is lightweight and I just lean it up against the table leg where I am stamping so it is real handy to grab it when I need it.

A feature I like really well is that the scoring tool, which is a nice one by the way, stores right on the board so you can always find it.

I just bought one and am waiting for it to be delivered. Before I actually bought the Scor-Pal, I was teetering between that and buying an Ellison Big Shot. Eventually I might buy the Big Shot, but for now, I am excitedly waiting for my new toy!
Absolutely go for it. I love my Scor-Pal. I truly wasn't sure that I would use it but I was frustrated with tossing cardstock or having "new matting material" I use it every day. I was so excited that the first day I cut and scored about 30 card bases. Since then I have made several boxes and other goodies.
Gina K gave the brilliant idea to put a red dot in permanent marker at the 4 1/4 groove so that I can quickly find it for reg cards.
It has a permanent part of my desk.

I just ordered one and can't wait to use it. I've also subscribed to their website's newsletters. The cards I've seen made with it are so crisp and uniform-looking. This thread was a big reason I bought it.

I love the Scor-Pal. I think it's great! Did you see Beate's wonderful tutorial for the Grid card last week? That's another use for the Scor-Pal that I'd like to try. Here's a link: Grid Technique Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers
You all are making it harder for me to resist. I keep thinking I need one and then I decide I don't. But I'm really getting tired of the bad scores I get using my Fiskars rotary timmer with the scoring blade. You all are such enablers.

I also LOVE my scor-pal. I particularly like it for making scores that are part of my layouts... they show up much better than the scoring blade on my regular cutter. They are wider and nicer looking. I haven't had mine long, but am anxious to try out boxes, envelopes, etc.
Just another enabler, LOL,
Sue

well, mine is on the way. After I saw my demo's cards and how crisp and clean the lines were, I knew I had to do something. I found it on Custom Crops with free shipping. The one at 7kidscollegefund was cheaper in price, but more once you added the shipping. It pays to look around. Can't wait until it gets here.

There really is no point in resisting. It's a great tool!
I stopped resisting. I just ordered it from 7KidsCollegeFund. It's on sale as a pre-order for $31.99. Estimated shipping is early June. I've waited this long; I guess I can wait a little longer. Thanks everyone for helping me part with more of my money.

The scor-pal is just wonderful. I love it especially when I made 120 tri-fold cards. If you read the packaging, it will explain how to use it. The newest thing is to scor your paper so it looks like tile......... well this will keep your lines all in perfect distance from one to another..... that is provided you dont shift the paper. Keep looking, Im sure there is several more ideas in the gallery.
I cant say enough good stuff about not only the Scor Pal but Diana Crick the inventor...she is so wonderful to work with. I use my Scorpal all the time. It has a permanent place on my desktop. Diana sent me the newest model as a gift along with the carrying bag which is top of the line. This is a great company.
I LOVE it for the diagonally scored backgrounds you can make. One pretty one was demo'ed by Debbie Olsen on her blog a while back. Really, I love this thing, and I researched like mad before buying it. I thought I couldn't justify it and held out for a while - hey, I don't even have the Nesties yet! But I really thought I would use this. And I do! I make extra scored bg's for cardmaking friends, and now they want one, too!
Okay, I see that you've already decided, but I have to put my two cents in, too: BUY IT! That is, if you can afford it (just don't want to enable unhealthily ;-) ). I waited a while to get it, and also thought that scoring wasn't really that important. I tried the fiskars blade, really, I did... THEN I saw what I could do with the scor-pal and my cuttlebug, and I was hooked...
I don't even put mine away, and I tend to be a neat freak at my stampin' counter. It gets a spot, just like my trusty ol' red sizzix and my box of cuttlebug folders and my tin of nesties. I like tools. ;-)
Just got mine and I love it already.
My DD is getting married in October and I'm making her invitation. She picked a gate fold invitation and with the Score-Pal they are so easy! She wants nugget boxes for her favors (150-200 of them) also not a problem with my trusty Score-Pal!!
Use it on almost every project I do. BUY it. I think 7kidscolloegefund.com has a special for it now for like less than $30  I did not read the entire post so if someone else posted this I am sorry!:-D
I look at it like this: A Scor-Pal is a lot like a dishwasher - it isn't an absolute necessity (I guess I COULD wash dishes by hand), but once you have it, you don't want to live without it! I had NO idea how much I'd use it until I got it. My mom's a crafter, too, but is on a pretty limited income and doesn't buy many gadgets that come along. After trying mine, the Scor-Pal is one "crafting aid" that she's really excited about saving her pennies for.
Oh my gosh! I thought this was one thing I did not need since I have several other things that will do the job. How wrong I was! I got it for Mother's Day and Wow! My cards are so much easier/faster to make, and they look a lot better. I find myself scoring just to score! It is the coolest thing next to my Cuttlebug, Cricut, my......etc. etc. Love it and you will too.
I have one too, but I didn't pay a dime. I just kept hinting to my sister who got the hint!! And she got me the bag and it came with some tape and other stuff too. I haven't had a chance to play with it, my craft area is all torn up right now, but I can't wait. And I made nugget boxes for a craft sale last year, and I can't wait to do it on this thing! Scoring should be a lot easier and faster (from what I have read on here!) and SCS never is wrong!
Don't have one. Keep going back & forth about getting one and keep saying no to myself. But after reading all the responses, I'm leaning heavily toward finally talking myself into one! Thanks everyone!
a few weeks ago but I have not had a chance to try it out yet. I wanted to bring it and the cuttlebug with me on vacation this week. However, my DH would not let me. I hope I will be able to play when I return home next Friday.
