Default Grand Calibur vs. Cuttlebug which one?

Ok, here is a question for all you machine gurus! I currently have a Cuttlebug and a vagabond machine. Thinking about selling the Cuttlebug as I would really like a Grand Calibur! Pros & Cons about each machine, what do you all think? Why do I need another machine? Don't really but really want a Grand Calibur ;) Lol!! I like that the Grand will take a 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper without having to be cut. I also have quite a few spellbinder dies (which I know I can use in the machines I have!)

Thanks ladies in advance for any info. I appreciate it!

Connie

Hi Connie, I don't have a Grand Calibur ( I went with a BSPro), and I do have a 'bug, and my reason for going bigger was getting fed up with the dies getting bigger than my poor little 'bug could handle. While I was looking around to decide what to go with, I happened to see a lady using a Grand Calibur at a Craft Fair. The thing that instantly put me off it was that you seemed to need three hands to be able to use it with ease! It has a fairly narrow base, not as wide as a Cuttlebug, and as she was loading the plates with one hand, and trying to turn the handle with the other, she had to sort of lean it against her body to steady it. Like I say, I don't have one, and she may have been using it awkwardly- those that use them regularly will no doubt have a different opinion, this was just how I saw it.

I have a grand and am very pleased with it in that I can use larger dies and it cuts intricate ones too(use wax paper with them) , which the bug does not always like. I put my plates in, start cranking and hold the machine at the top till the plates are almost out and then grab them. It does not take thicker were the bug will.

I don't have a Grand Calibur, but they are on sale for 50% off at Joann.com right now (for a second week). That's only $69.99, regular 139.99. There is also a free shipping coupon for orders over $50 ZCQY068. The coupon ends Saturday, March 9, 2013.

Here's the link: Spellbinders Grand Calibur Cut & Emboss Machine & machines at Joann.com
