OMG Goo Gone is fantastic in place of Gamsol. Thank you Sue Nelson from Heart Prints.com who figured this out.
The GG moves the pencil color around so smoothly and easily without any drag. I had alot of problems trying to move my color with Gamsol. well I'll never use that stuff again.
The GG leaves NO oily residue nor did it cause a black streaking from the stamped ink image, (hope that makes sense). The best part is it smells good and it's not toxic.
This is my new favorite way to use the pencils now. So everyone give it a try, you won't believe how much better the color moves around than the Gamsol. I still used the stumps and they worked great.
I have the Goo Gone in the bottle and I just stuck the pointy part of the stump in the tiny hole of the bottle and turned the bottle upside down. The stump soaked up the GG. I was to lazy to pore some in a container.
shut UP!!! I can't wait to try this! Thanks for posting this!! I was reluctant to use the Gamsol because of my allergies - but I think I can tolerate the Goo Gone. Not to mention that I have a bottle of it already!
Wow, what a cool discovery! I just used Goo Gone to take a bunch of sticker residue off my dresser ... now I will use it with my Prisma pencils and see how it goes! Thanks for the tip!
Vicki, I sure hope this works for you because the way the GG moves the colors around almost effortlessly (spelling). Plus I don't have to use as much pencil color. For some reason I just could not blend my colors with the Gamsol, they just seemed to get stuck in one spot.
I am using the GP paper and it's all been good.
Wow, I'm glad someone else tried this technique! I read about it on here yesterday (or day before?) and was thinking of trying it. Thanks for trying it and giving us the "thumbs up"! Can't wait to play with this!
This is what else I've found, is the GG does not evaporate right away like the Gamsol. I have a lot more coloring time. The Gamsol always bugged me becuse it would evaporate before you could get something blended.
Well now that I finally ordered Gamsol and that CUTE PINK bottle from Gina K and I still haven't used my Prisma's-I'm reading this brilliance!! Woohoo...at least I know there are 2 options for me now. TFS.
Someone also mentioned skipping the stumps all together and using the Goo Gone Mess Free pen, available at Wal-Mart (it's in the cleaning supplies aisle). HTH!
OMG, thank you, thank you, thank you...I could not wait to try this and thankfully Goo Gone is my favorite "go to" cleaner and I already had some. One word, WOW! I have always struggled with OMS (Gamsol) because there were many times I could not get rid of the obnoxious "line" of color. The stump just glides over the pensil and it blends beautifully. So are we now calling this the "Goo Gone Technique" or "Magic Goo Gone" ?
Personally, I don't like the smell of the Goo Gone--but the minimal odor from the Mona Lisa OMS (I put the lid back on my little jar after I've dipped the stump in) doesn't bother me or my allergies at all.

Goo Gone is cheap too. They carry it at our Dollar Tree store. Wish I could use it, but my skin is really sensitive to citrus oil. My hands and arms start burning and itching when I use the stuff.

I just love the smell of Stazon in the morning!
So glad I saw this! I'll have to give it a try next time I get a chance to stamp. I suppose I could get off the computer and stamp now..... but I would miss all the great tips and enablers.
I was going to suggest the same thing! Pictures pretty pleeze!
I did today's sketch challenge using Goo Gone because I couldn't wait to give it a try. I definitely need practice in the overall technique but just doing the whole process is so much easier with the Goo Gone. If you check my gallery you can see my card.
I started keeping Goo Gone handy for cleaning sticky scissors, etc. I'll have to try this ~ just today I convinced myself that I liked using baby oil better than Gamsol. Never noticed a smell with Gamsol and I have terrible allergies... but the baby oil just blends the color so much better! Now for the next experiment of comparing baby oil to Goo Gone!!
Tdodd00 and Lynn -- your cards are fantastic! Wow! Now I really can't wait to try this technique! Is it just me or do the colors appear more vibrant using GG? They sure appear that way in the pics. Thanks for posting!

I just broke out my goo gone pen from wal-mart, and it works amazing! Whoo-hoo! No need to buy stumps or blenders anymore. You have to try it. I also agree that the goo gone blends better than the Gamsol for me anyhow.
Thanks for all of the tips ladies! I'm going to give Goo Gone a try since I have two bottles in my cleaning closet. I also like the idea of using the Goo Gone pen. Splitcoast Rocks!!
