Default Full size Archival ink pad leakage

I am finding that on nearly all my full size Archival pads the ink has leaked down into the space between the felt platform and the case. It doesn't affect using the pad. It's just very messy looking. And I don't know why it happens. The pads are a couple of years old, but have not had to be reinked yet, so it's not a matter of my over-inking them. I just don't use my colored pads all that often.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi Rachelrose, I've actually had a couple of brand new pads that were delivered, sealed, with that sort of leakage, which I thought odd, but put down to over inking at source.

No but I dont have a lot of them. I think you should report it to Ranger though.

Sorry that happened. Are you getting inky just handling them now?

Now that you say it, Shaz, I remembered having it happen with a new pad years ago, and contacting Ranger and them saying it was an overinking thing.

I'm guessing the ink has just been leaking out of the other pads over time. Guess I'll call Ranger and ask. Kind of odd, if it's just the way they are. Or aren't supposed to be, which is why I posted to ask. So far, it seems my experience is unusual.
