Default Fiskars punches 'reach' vs SU/EK

I found several threads from 3 -4 years ago about this topic of the 'reach' of punches. I wish I had looked for this info back then. While the information hasn't really changed, I thought I would bring it up-to-date.

While the Fiskars squeeze punches are very easy to use and produce great punch-outs and negative spaces, their reach into the paper from the paper's edge is only 1/8". This makes them poor choices for certain paper projects. I was following an online video's directions for a "Peek-A-Boo" card and discovered the 'reach' of the Fiskars circle punch was just not suitable for this style card.

The Fiskars 1 3/8" oval punch has a reach of 7/16" while the 1 7/8" oval punch reaches in 1/2". I have 3 graduated sizes of their 8-pointed star and they reach in from 1/16" to 3/16".

At the time of my purchases, I did not realize the importance of a punch's reach. I hope this update is useful.

I never thought about this...... thanks for pointing it out...... That being said, I don't buy Fiskar punches because of the problems I had with their original corner and border punches. I stick with EK Success.
