Default fantastix?

have you seen/heard of/used these?

they are used for coloring, I've not heard of them before, but found a video tutorial on someone's blog and they look really interesting.

I am not a fan of the blending stumps and these look like a good option.

It's a love/hate thing, lol! I remember reading about them when they first came out years ago. I absolutely haunted my local stores constantly, desperate to get then. When they eventually came in, I got a call from the stamp store and dashed down to get them.

I HATED THEM!! Seriously, I just wasn't thrilled with how they performed. I tried them with inks, paints, Pearl-Ex, and I just could not understand the hype.

On the other hand, there are a lot of people that swear by 'em! Think they're the best thing since peanut butter was invented.

I have seen them in Michael's. They are in the rubber stamping aisle, where they have the ink pads.

I have them... they are OK. The sound (scratchy) they make on paper makes my face tic.... but they are neat for some applications.

To make SU In-Color markers was why I bought them.

I've had these for several weeks...don't really care how they handle. Since discovering stumps with Prismacolors, there is nothing else in my world...LOL

Try them if you like, they are certainly cheap enough. JoAnn sells them as well as Michael's. You might like them.

Same as Ireland, bought them to make In Color markers, can't stand 'em. Now I buy the Tombow marker that's really close and add reinker to the tip. Works MUCH better for me at least.

I saw them used on a Scrapbook Answers technique DVD. The lady using them loved them for inking her stamps up in different colours with (she was using the bullet-tipped ones, not the brush-tipped). She just dabbed the fantastix into her stamp pad then dabbed the fantastix onto her rubber stamp. I bought a pack of the brush-tipped ones last fall to make markers from some reinkers I don't have stamp pads for, but have yet to open them.

I have both stumps and fantastixs and i used them for different things. I use the fantastixs for applying my chalks, especially to my Bellas skin. I have also used them with gamsol for blending crayon...yes, it does work and since it holds more gamsol than the stumps, it is easier to use on this medium than the stump. The one thing I do have to add is that they don't hold up to pressure like the stumps, they get mushy in the middle if you aren't careful.

That was why I bought them witht he last in-colors. They do work to a point but the tips are horrible for smaller images.
I now buy the Tombow blender pens from Michaels to make my In Color markers and they work MUCH BETTER.

I personally will not buy the Fantastix again.

i bought the set that michaels sells, but i am not that impressed. I use them for chalk (didn't realize there was other media i could use them with) They say reusable, but after one big use, the thing seems worn out to me, and i don't have the desire to go wash it out (hard enough to make myself wash dishes!) I have used Qtips in the past, and probably will go back to that until i find a better tool, that is inexpensive and disposable.

Do you just dip them in color or do you fill them with reinkers??

I love my Fantastix. I use them with reinkers to color directly on the stamps, and they work perfect. I just dip into a drop of reinker and apply to the stamp. These work great for large stamp areas. If i need something finer, I use Cut and dry nibs. I've decided that I will not buy anymore inkpads except the black, brown, and green versafine and stazon. All other inks, I just get reinkers and save myself a lot of storage space so I can buy more paper!
Also, I just run them under water and squeeze the water out gently to clean them up.
